|
|
I believe that I once read a fursona description where the species was Dire Wolf, and it has made me curious ever since.
Are extinct species allowed in Bon Bon? Mammoths, saber-toothed cats, dinosaus?
(My personal opinion would be against such species, as I think they would look really weird among all these others characters, but I'd like to ask anyway, just to see what kind of answer I migth get ) _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

Okay how would this work, it would like the mythicals they can't be in Bonbon so if you are extinct it means your species has died out completely. How could they have been born.
However, there would be some let me think, I believe there was a Tasmanian Wolf alive at the around Bonbon's time. They could exist I think. _________________ You sure this is a good bone or not. |

What I mean is the ones that were all hunted to extinction by could surely make appearances, right? even if the numbers aren't as high as the ones that naturally went extinct _________________

This a rather difficult situation. An example would be the Dodo, a ground living bird on a isolated island. Then along comes MAN who kills the bird for meat, which was discribed at the time as being rather rank and the eggs of the Dodo being eaten by rats inadvertetly introduced to the island as stowaways on the ships visiting the island.
Now the confusion arises in the Bon Bon universe thus; Would the Dodos be sentient as a species? Would the Bon Bonian sailors be killing them and for what reason and finally rats in the Bon Bon universe would be sentient too so would they destroy the eggs?
Again as regards the Saber-tooth tiger (Smileadon) there are several current theories that they too were victims for early man, rather than an evolutionary dead end.
On this subject you may find an excellent book of interest intitled ' After Man' by Dougal Dixon. which speculates on the animals of the Earth fifty million years after the exticton of mankind. _________________ Terminus: http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=239198#239198

I hope no one minds if I throw in my 2cents
Symphony, I think Max brings up an interesting question about recently extinct species.
When I made my fursona was going t pick a rare species of wolf known as ...." Texas Grey Wolf" <--------click here
during the 1800's -1900's this speices was hunted to the point of extinction. ( I really don't that much more. Information on this creature is scarce at best)
I eventually decided not to pick a wolf because PBB is flooded with wolves already
,but after reading the information I have added; Are you still against all extinct creatures or are there exceptions?
And as for prehistoric creatures, I leave that choice up too Vanessa and her art. If Vanessa can make a stunning portrait of a sabertooth then he is welcome to join our ranks in my eyes^_^
I do agree that "dino-sonas"( lol fur-sona) would pose quite a dilemma in terms of fitting in, but I have seen many attractive artworks and drawing that would make me reconsider our policys on this subject ^_^ _________________ Dallas"Wildcat"Swagger--->Fursona |

A lot of points have been brought up in this thread, but I don't think it's up to me to answer them. I just created this thread to find out what Vanessa's opinion is, as it might be of help to someone if they know exactly which types of species are allowed or not.
We've seen members who have wanted dragons or vampires, and while those haven't been allowed, they've been informed of this so they could move on and create a new fursona. If someone would want a mammoth, for example, it would just be nice to know if it's okay or not, I think. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio
