| Interesting Rune that thought somehow I think Jillian and Kommie would do something like that but I would also imagine that it would be large clunky and probably gas fed so while carbon monoxide might not be known back then or it's effects it would poision the girls real quick in a room. nice thought though lol but the carbon monoxide is definately a turn off. maybe if they had the gears attached to a water wheel or windmill? Naaaa to far fetched. |

Well... the CO gas might also cause a weird-sort of asphyxiation high as well. There are studies done where people were exposed to CO who claimed to have a "buzz" or "high" sort of feeling off it. So... while a combustion engine on a pleasure machine does post serious health risk, it might also add to the thrill of the user... before it potentially kills them.
Also, don't forget we have that badger guy Robert Stone, who also is a mechanic. He's already been shown to be handy with automobiles of the day, so... he might also have an inkling or two for making... custom changes to the bicycle.)) |

I like the infanticide rumour that follow the Kokeshi. This is a little creepy but in a town like Bon Bon unwanted child must not be that impossible. Of course, if it was a know fact in Bon Bon, I doubt they would use them as sex toy.

CO causes Hypoxia, the same illness as "High Altitude sickness" and being drunk. Drinking effects the ability to absorb oxygen.
The problem with CO, it kills blood cells. It can take days to recover from CO poisoning.
In 189x, the gas engine where extremely rare, and somewhat dangerous by explosion!
Electric motors, on the other hand, was very much used and in high demand.
Steam engines was the most common forms of power.
