Farewell, hopefully not forever

I guess the title says it all, really. Much to my chagrin, I have to leave the forum for the forseeable future. I don't know when, or even if, I'll be back. I felt I owed it to everybody to at least let you all know in person, as it were, rather than simply disappear. So... yeah. It's been a good run. Sorry I haven't been around the past few weeks and I hope everybody is doing well. Welcome to the newcomers and happy birthday to anybody who's birthday I missed. Vanessa, Ronald, Martin, I'll keep my subscription going as long as I can but right now I don't know how long I can continue to afford it. If anybody has a burning desire to contact me, for some unknown and/or suspiciously wacky reason, I can be reached on Xbox Live (at shafmaster) or on Yahoo (at skylore22124).

Ok, I know some of you are chomping at the bit for the details. Well... alright. Here's a summary.

On Friday, January 22, I got laid off. Essentially, because the franchise company was having financial trouble and I was making too much money. Unfortunately, since I don't have a computer of my own, I used the one at work or on occassion I get access to a friend's. So since I no longer have regular access anymore I won't be able to get to the forum regularly enough to keep up. That might change if I can get another job, if I'm lucky.

On Thursday, January 28, my father passed away. His health had been gradually failing for a few years now and to be honest it wasn't really much of a shock at this point. I don't want to go into the details. No, I'm not "fine" but yes, I'll be "ok". Mostly, I just want to get everything about it over with so I can move on. Again, details.

I've got too much I have to focus on to be able to set aside the mental capacity to function here as well. And that's pretty much it.
