Is he a member of the American Legion?
Because yes that is where some of them came from (I've been a member since before I can remember, well a member of "The Sons Of The American Legion", as of just recently have I become a normal member).

He was about 2-3 feet up.
Materials needed to make a human kite:
1. one either very brave or very stupid individual
2. one NBC (nuclear-Biological-Chemical) protective suit
3. one military grade poncho
4. 550 cord
and 5. one sandstorm

Ah, the service, memories I don't care for much. Not that I didn't like serving my country, I just wish it had felt like it more than getting screwed by my superiors and the medical board. Disqualified from submarines even though I was second in my class all because they thought I wouldn't be able to handle getting teased a little. If only they had seen the shit I put up with in high school...
Well, I still have some friends in the service, and one of my cousins is married to one of them now. The other wants me to plan a trip to Hawaii to visit him, too bad I'm broke right now
Anyways, that's a bit off topic.

Most US fighters are single pilot aircraft and that pic is in an F-15 Eagle.
There is only one two seated model of an Eagle and that is the F-15T which I can't tell if that is what this one is but it doesn't look like it.

Depends on the plane itself.Some are piloted by a single person.The only time a fighter plane's auto pilot comes on is when the pilot(and co-pilot)take the plane to high and black out.

And in doing so most auto pilot systems only level out the aircraft.
