Johnny shook Drodel's hand and replied, "Yes, it's good to meet you again, without all those cut-throats breathing down our necks."
After a brief thought, he added, "You say you're a blacksmith, hmm? I suppose you must know a wolverine fellah and his otter assistant, Mr. Stone and Ms. Sullivan? Strange pair of inventors that run some sort of repair shop in town... I only imagine the two of them must give you some business, being they're so mechanically-inclined an' all."
Turning his attention back to Caroline for a moment, Johnny had to admit that he was starting to warm up to her a bit more, thinking that maybe he found himself a new drinking companion. He found most folks on this side of the globe loved their fine wines and brandies too much... his drink of choice had always been whiskey. Watching her swig the bourbon he had offered her with little trouble impressed him, and he wondered just how much whiskey a little girl like her could hold.
Upon her asking if he was trying to get her "tipsy", Johnny smirked and replied, "I would be remiss in my duties as a guest not to try and get the host good and drunk." He followed his comment with a playful wink and a chuckle.
Johnny took up his hostess's offer and helped himself to a plate-full of food. He was just about to take a seat, with a plate and a glass of whiskey in each hand, when Caroline successfully roused the slumbering snake with some coffee. When Henk recognized him, Johnny chuckled aloud and said, "You know, Henk, we need to stop meeting up like this... you always seem to be unconscious whenever I see you."
With a broad smile, he added, "At least you're not sleeping naked in trees anymore."

Convinced the Naga will at least be cohearant, but have a nasty headache, the wolverine girl takes a couple of steps back to give Henk some room.
Looking a bit confused between the coyote and the naga, Caroline looked at Henk and asks, "What does he mean by sleeping naked in trees?" |

Shufffling in her pockets, she pulls out another handrolled cigarette. Getting out a match, she lights it, and takes a long drag off it letting its flavor blend with the wiskey... "Um... no one minds if I smoke, do they? Sorry about that, this is the first time I've had company over in a long while. Would anyone else care for one?" |

[try not to contol other people so much, Henk... I didn't see anything in Caroline's post to suggest she was upset, just confused. Since she hasn't said anything yet, I'm not really going to roleplay it as her being upset.]
Johnny put up his hand in polite refusal of Caroline's offer for a cigarette. He reached over to the table next to him, where he had placed his food and beverage, and picked up his glass, saying, "I hope you don't mind if I indulge in my own vice..."
He listened to Henk's story about his money, noticing that Henk was reacting to some sort of bells that weren't even there. This guy's definitely no drinker, Johnny thought to himself. When Henk mentioned Caroline crying, the coyote sighed and thought, Great, now he's seeing things as well.
"You should probably drink some more of that coffee, Henk," Johnny said, "and maybe one of us should get you a cold compress for your head. Don't worry, you'll stop hearing bells and seeing 'pink elephants' or 'blue foxes' eventually."

(Sorry-sorry about being late with my replies again. Been watching Mahoromatic in an effort to forget about Steve, and it really isn't helping.)
*Finishing her cigarette, she snuffs it out on the sole of her shoe. She pours a second glass of coffee for the Naga, and offers it to him.*
"Well, no need for appologies, Naga. More just confused than upset about anything. Sorry to have gotten you a bit... three-sheets to the wind. Will you be okay finding your way back to your lodgings? I could get you a ride or something... I'd offer you a place here to sleep off your hangover, but I've only got two rooms upstairs... mine, and the bathroom."
Caroline looked up into the late-afternoon sky and smirked, "Or... Papa always said the best way to work off barbeque and hangover is with a game of criquet or darts... of which I oddly have both." Smirking mischeviously at the coyote she taunted, "And I bet I could throw a dart way better than you, Mr. Sideshow... or are you worried a half-sober Delmarvan girl will show you up?" |

Johnny smirked at Caroline, then replied, "I doubt I could trust any wager coming from you, miss, considering you already told me a fib as soon a we met... it was only 5 years ago when I started performing trick-shooting with Jackalope Bircham's Wild West, and only 4 since I was performing in St. Louis, yet you claimed to have been a 'little girl' at the time. 4 years is an awful short time for a 'little girl' to grow up into such a fine woman of independent means."

Turning to Drodel, he remarked, "What do you think, Mr. Ovadin? Should I trust Miss Wellwater to be honest in this little game of darts? Maybe you'd like to be the neutral observer for us..."

As Stone takes his evening constitutional, he notices the previously empty shop has a new tenant! With a smile he heads toward the door. About time we got in a proper tobacconist he thinks to himself, frowning as he notices it's closed up. However, hearing voices from in back, the badger walks around the back. Taking in the gathering, he tips his hat to the ladies present. "Hope I'm not interrupting, but I'm assuming the proprietor is back here."

(Hey guys, sorry about being slow to respond to this like I should be. Steve is stupid, and I've spent most of the weekend either tanked on Sangria or Black-and-Tan... which is kinda weird as normally when I get sloshed, I get really talky-loquatious... but... anyway, sorry about the slow replies... and what's stupid worse is when you've have the tolerance I have, it takes a lot of stupid sangria to get you tanked. I know you get this alot, but... thanks for putting up with me and all my moodiness.)
As per memorization, the wolverine girl waves to the badger and says, "Welcome to Caroline Wellwater's Tobacco shop... GAH!" slapping her forehead she continues, "Sorry about that, but the shop is closed. Still, if you're hungry, we're finishing up a bit of barbeque... and we're about to start a game of darts, once I find my board. I'm Caroline." pointing at the naga she continued, "That's Henk, the owl is Drodel, and the Indian is Johnny Six-feathers. Please, make yourself at home, and help yourself to some food and wiskey."
Excusing herself, she went inside, and headed upstairs. Once she got upstairs, she headed for her bedroom, and began searching through the footlockers in her closet. Finding the darts and dartboard, she grabbed them. She turned around and caught her refection in the mirror and stopped.
"Cari, what are you doing?"
"I'm... I'm going to play darts."
"You know how horrible you are at darts. What are you doing?"
Taking a deep breath, she replied, "I'm going to play darts with my new friends."
"...don't be stupid, Cari. You know their are what... four... FOUR men downstairs? Since when has that many men ever been waiting around for you? You know you aren't as pretty as your sisters or your mother... I mean, look at yourself. You don't even know how to wear a dress, let alone have one in your closet. The only reason men come to your house, is to spend time with your sisters."
"Stop it! I'm going downstairs, to play darts."
"Sure you are... just don't come running back to me. You know just how much I hate that I'm always right."
Clutching her dartboard like a shield, she scowled at the mirror and said, "I'm going downstairs to play darts! John wanted to play!"
Nearly falling down the stairs, she stopped in her shop, still clutching the dartboard. |

"Johnny, could you help me? I'm in love with Caroline and I don't know how I can get trow to her?! I give her a satin rose, but she didn't know that it mean that she has taken my hart. Can you help me, please I beg of you."Henk spoke softly bu fast because he didn't wanted that Caroline would be embraced by him.
Henk saw Caroline retuning back to the garden with a Dartboard and some Darts. After she placed the board at a tree, she holed the darts out for how would try first.
"Caroline, would you help me please with this darts?" Caroline showed how to hold them, Henk did the same and than she trowed the dart. Henk tried it to but it was with to much force, no concentration, no guiding and the dart flow right in to the board and drilled it self half way in the board.
"I'm so sorry Caroline, let me try to take it out." With much afort Henk pulled the dart out the board. "Sorry for breaking the board I will buy you a new one." Henk gave the dart back and took Carolines hand and gave a kiss on it before returning to his seat.

Ewan was walking down the street, bottle of bourbon under his arm. He had heard through the grapevine that a tobacconist had set up shop in town. As a gentleman who enjoys a fine smoke, Ewan decided it would be prudent to introduce himself.
He approached as he saw the local engineer, Robert Stone walk around the side of the building. He heard people talking and laughing in the back and the tantalizing smell of barbecue reached his nose.
He finally arrived and casually tilted his head into the backyard, just in time to see a dartboard get slung onto the tree. He stepped out and greeted the party "Hello, everyone."
He had heard some things about Caroline, that she was a wolverine was enough to identify her as the one setting up the dartboard. He moved forward, greeting the others with warm smiles.
"Hello, miss, you must be the new tobacconist I've heard so much about. My name is Ewan Bushmill, I'm a local bartender. I heard you were from the States? I thought I'd greet you and offer this bottle of whiskey as a sign of friendship, a welcome to town sort of thing."
