A singing opera mare, you can clean my chimney and sing after that. You may use the bathroom.

I really don't mean to keep picking on you, Henk, but the wording of that last post was sort of... odd. Laughing The chimney cleaning part I understood, and possibly the singing, but the part about using the bathroom... blink I really, really hope you're not talking about what I think you're talking about... yuk

Again, I apologize, and I understand if it's hard to communicate well in a different language (and English is a very tough language to master), so don't take any of this personally...

Then how about a carpenter? Stone cutter? Hunter? Lumberjack?

There are plenty of options, but it really depends on what your fursona is like and what you prefer.

Well, the stonemason does all the work, the barber can give you a haircut, and the carpenter can take you out to lunch.

I believe that Mr. Thom is merely one of the more visible members of the town guard. The rest are probably hard at work "off camera" as it were.

Thanks for clearing that up...

As for how I act, I'm naturally friendly and have been accused, on numerous occassions, of being a big flirt. I didn't mean to give you the wrong impression...

I like to think I'm not getting the wrong impression, myself. Besides, flirting can be fun Razz

Anyway, you know what profession I think is lacking? Miner. There's this big diamond mine around run by Mr. Blue, but I don't see a single miner or engineer to run it.

I have never heard of a stone cutter actually going into a mine or quarry and retrieving their stone themselves. All they've ever done, as far as I know, is buy their stone from the people running the mine.

Well that would be good if there were people running the mines but since there isn't I suppose I could do both.

Quite a shift you would be working there, Peter. Laughing ( Miners often worked 9-12 hours per day.)

Other occupations that I haven't seen yet are that of the navvy, rat-catcher, and glassmaker.

Well, she does live in a giant, stone castle, she is in dire need of her castle needing repair and she does not have the monetary means to pay for such repairs, as has been demonstrated already. I'm sure you can put the pieces together, Peter.

I think I remember Vanessa mentioning something about there being a mining town nearby Bon Bon. Let me look into that and get back to you.

Then again my fruitless search leads me to believe that it is possible that I'm going senile. Rolling Eyes Laughing

And just to repost them for reference, as several recently asked questions were brought up there, here's the previous Theories and Occupations threads.

Also, mein lieber Doktor, I believe that you said your particular specialty was chemistry (a Druggist, I believe you called yourself). If that is the case then would you also be the town's physician? If not, then is that role fulfilled by Doc. Parker? Or is that profession yet available for some aspiring royal member?

*pausing half-way to biting into a leg of bar-be-qued giant-bettle, the old gecko looks up*

Actually if she's more skilled in the chemistry and in making pharmecuticals, she'd be a pharmacist... or an apothacary.

Physicians tended to work on the "physical" side of anatomy and health, and are more closely related to the modern artform of surgeons. Though before anyone asks, a true surgeon is not a sawbones. We have long studied the arts of anatomy and physiology, and no longer rely on crude methods of hacking and tarring. Why, the Royal Society of Medicine and Anatomy used to have me on staff in their theater of medicine. Our operating room could host some forty medical students.

And, while the RSMA and I haven't always agreed, I would have to say I'm more a physician. Though, being an Urbana, I'm no mere physician. I am decendant from a long line of brilliant minds, skilled in the arts of medicine, anatomy, and surgery. Why the Urbana's practicaly started the whole mad science bit. Who else could have blendeded steam-bernetic appendages with flesh and bone as well as an Urbana? I would dare say none.

If there's science to be done mad, we're the mad scientists to do it.

*shakes his head to focus, and blinks his eyes as only geckos can*

But, back on topic, maybe Senior Cole just has automatons working in his mines. Why pay a laborers monthly salary, when you can just buy a machine once and have it work till it falls apart?

Though I have been wondering, does Bon Bon have teamsters, farriers, or wainrights? What about coopers? I see an awful lot of alcohol being consumed, but I've wondered who's been making the casks and barrels to crate it around. And, while I have worked on internal combustion engine horseless carriages, the vast majority of deliveries are still done by horse-drawn cart... and I cannot say I've met one teamster yet.

Thinking of that... what about brewmasters or vintners. Again, a lot of alcohol gets consumed, but... where does it come from?
