I was going to skip a turn and give Liu Lu some time to study and order people around. She's at the moment constructing hr weapon, which will take some time to produce. Unless you want a overly frilled up post talking about how she commanding she is in building her weapon. I don't think I have anything to offer. _________________ "Nothing is so strong as gentleness. For the love of...
Let's all just keep skipping turns. Maybe, one day, this RP will reach another page when the posts start writing themselves. _________________

Am I the ONLY person in this RP who does NOT leave writing their post until the last minute? Fucking shit! Aaron, at the start, said that he had half a dozen of his posts already written. I try and help Hoshi to get hers ready in time, starting before it's due. And I make sure mine is written and ready before I'm to post it.
What the fuck is so hard about taking the SEVERAL DAYS you people have between your posts to plan, think and write your post so that it is ready. It's no wonder you people keep skipping your posts because you "can't think of anything". You all leave it til the last fucking minute.
This thread is turning into a shambles. We have a guy making a map, a barely 10 minute job, assuming everyone does what they should do to help, and he doesn't even have time for that. We have people joining and leave left right and centre. And almost every second post someone makes it's "oh, just skip me, I can't think of anything".
FUCKING JESUS CHRIST IN HELL!!!! _________________

Silv, I can write anything you want in a few minutes. I just don't think a post concerning building a secret weapon is all that important right now. If you want I can easily come up with a post and put it out there ok. _________________ "Nothing is so strong as gentleness. I give up. Do whatever you people want. I don't care any more. Post, don't post. Whatever.
Try and enjoy a potentially epic thread and all it gets is maybe one post a week. Should just stick with one on one sex RPs. At least those threads get posted in regularly. _________________

Just a little bit of trivia. ToA currently has 45 replies in it. 30 replies = 1 page.
In the first 30 replies, I made 4 posts. That's all on page 1.
On page 2, the last 15 replies, I have made 3 posts.
I have made essentially as many posts on the first half of the second page as I did on the whole of the first page. Why do I get the feeling I am going to be making more then TWICE that amount before we hit page 3?
Seriously, it's going to end up just myself, Aaron and Hoshi posting, before long. _________________

Not my best work, but… hopefully this'll be what you need. Well, I would have written this up via my BESM book, but the stupid thing has gone missing. So… here is my bio for approval sans-BESM
Caroline Wellwater
Necromagus, Order of the Long Walkers
Caroline, like all Long Walkers, is of indeterminate age. She looks to be in her late twenties. Small of frame and statue, the wolverine-girl resembles an elaborately detailed and crafted, porcelain doll, garbed in gothic lace and silk. Like the other members of her order, she has picked the colors of violet and cranberry for her raiment, though she has added a splash of vanity from silver decorations. Due to her immense inborn powers, and being favored by the Elder, she is allowed this spot of uniqueness amongst the Order.
Caroline has four main possessions she keeps with her at all times. Her silver-tipped agebone staff is the mark of her office, and the only one of its kind in the Order. Even the Elder does not know what sort of bone the staff is made from, and Caroline is nix to talk about how she obtained the relic. Through the agebone she performs most of her rituals. Necromagi magic is slow, laborious, and highly detailed and often requires a focus such as an agebone staff.
Necromagus magic is not as flashy or instant as other spell castors. It is ritualistic, requiring the drawing of symbols of power while reciting specific mantras. The process will leave the necromagi defenseless. Improper spell preparation can cause the entire ritual to fizzle and fail… or worse. As such, Necromagi tend to use magic as a last option. More often they'll use their magic called science. Somehow they can take common things, and make them dangerous. Their most notorious being the Hydra-Egg.
Her backpack of pockets, the second of her items, contains the tools of her trade. Being a Necromagus, Caroline is allowed to search for ancient texts and documents. Some of these librams are in such poor condition that the only way to save them is through the laborious task of copying them down. As such, her backpack of pockets is filled with pens, pen nubs, inks, quills, parchment, glue, blotters, sand, and all instruments of a bookbinder. It also contains the wonders of the magic known as science that the Order study. While she can wear the backpack herself, normally her bone-guardian servant carries it.
The Libram of Malikai is her third possession. A tome started by the Founder, the Libram is a fountain of knowledge… for those willing to open its pages. One does not unlock the Libram lightly. Much like her backpack of pockets, the libram contains countless pages.
Lastly is her bone-guardian, Malinkov. She is never seen without him. He is quiet and does as he's told, as any good bone-guardian does. He will give his un-life to save and protect his Mistress. Tall as he is, he strikes an odd contrast to the small, wolverine-girl. Armored in steel, another creation of the magic of science, he makes an imposing shield whose presence often will scare away those who think Caroline is an easy target.
Caroline is unique amongst the Order in that the Elder allows her to have one vice. Green Lotus Perfume. The distilled fragrance of the Green Lotus is a known narcotic, but, when diluted, is used as a mild perfume for the wealthy and nobility. The Elder knows that Caroline's Perfume is not diluted, but even more concentrated than normal. Perhaps he knows that it is what enables her to focus and channel such power as she does.
Being a Necromagus, Caroline is infused with life-power. So engorged is she with the power that even the feeding habits of the Elder do not drain her like it does so many others in the Order. However, being a Necromagus, Caroline unconsciously drains the life away from living things around her. This is most visible in plants, where you can witness flowers wilting and leaves drying up. When she is around someone for too long, that person can feel tired, exhausted, and can even die. If she desires she can use this ability as a weapon by focusing it through the agebone staff, draining the chi from her opponents to feed upon.
Caroline is also literate and a linguist. A trait useful for an Order devoted to collecting books and knowledge. It also doubles as a way for her to make an occasional coin, or to pay for a room for the night. Many Innkeepers offer her their best accommodations, knowing he'll be able to fill the inn with patrons. Not everyone can read, but everyone enjoys a good story, or hearing the news from distant lands. |

Well, I personally apologize for being out of it, and missing my turns. What with the holiday and my recent surgery, I've been out of just about everything. I want to see this RP continue, and I feel like it will. It just seems to be a tough time for some people.. _________________ I dance with the devil and dream with the demons, fell asleep with death and fell short of breath

Sounds like Caroline's Order is an off shoot of the Rovers. *shrug*
yay, more darkness in the thread. *rolls eyes and grumbles*
Not too sure about the passive life draining. That could lead to some troubles later on, especially if our characters are meant to be meeting up and fighting together for long periods. _________________

((Not really. To me, I interpreted the Rovers seem more out to stop the Devas / Deamon wars. The Order is just out to collect books and knowledge. They're more chronicallers who want to live forever. Academics, if you will. Their religion is science.
As for the whole "darkness"... I'm going to take a bit of offense to that. I'm Goth. But I'm not some eye-shadow-ahkn-wearing-aghnsty-whiney-emo. To me, being Goth means you appreciate the stark beauty in nihilism. For example, the sunrise has such a pagentry and welcoming cavalclade that you cannot help but be entranced by the beauty of it. Caroline isn't "dark" or "grim-dark-emo". I was actually basing her garb more off the mage-girls from Vodacce in the 7th Sea stuff.
And, as for her being semi-parasitic... well... I suppose that'll just be a problem for you big, strong, burly, warrior-types She seems fine with it.)) |

Actually Caroline, the Rover are not out there to stop anybody. The only reason they stepped in during the last major war is because they couldn't stand the senseless killing anymore. They also know the truth of what happened during the Forgotten and will not share that knowledge for fear of the past repeating itself. Though they won't stop anyone from acquiring any lost knowledge they won't share that knowledge either. They do know magic but don't flaunt it like most mages and they keep to the roads and waterways.
Rovers teach basic math, reading, writing, history (Except the Forgotten Age) and science. They are Story Tellers, Musicians, Singers, and Dancers. If there is a need for a mediator then the Rovers will step in and help. They also protect the roads from bandits, raiders and slavers. They don't get involved in many conflicts unless they have no choice. Finally, there are many and if they ever band together like the did during the War between the Devas and Daemons then you better start worrying. _________________ I am what I am and proud to be who I am.
