i dont know how i would fit in your thread ...i thought maybe it could be the island her father originated from so the indigenous people would look like bulked up medel with out the wings even the females would be bigger then her but then that would make medel either their prey, found by her father....or their deity
thats the only idea i can gleam right now

That might work as well, the one tribe that worships amazons. The other worships Komodo Dragons..... which look just like Medel........ and are incredibly fond of tentacle sex perhaps.

no i mean ....ok go read medel's bio about her father ....he was a pure blood Komodo dragon from an island and her mom was a black bearded gliding lizard ...her father wanted to create his own race of superior komodos AKA dragons ...and shes now home purely by accident

Well I had already read her Bio. Back when I was trying to get some "statues" made by Medel. I was trying to get a better understanding of her so I think I have her down to pat. Though your story makes a lot more sense.
