I wonder what a newspaper in Bon Bon might be like. I've personally been thinking that it would be something of a mixture between a regular newspaper, and a magazine like Playboy. It could feature current news, both local as well as global, and articles on all sorts of things.

I don't imagine it as being blatantly pornographic. I can see it feature some articles on sex and such, but in a stylish and educational sort of way. I'd also think it could have various interviews of some of the ladies of Bon Bon, complete with some pinup pictures, of course. It could even be something for the front page, having a beautiful model on the cover, like so many magazines today.

I don't really know if there actually is a newspaper in Bon Bon. I'm just thinking about various things and how they might be in Bon Bon.

Normally that would be an odd idea, but in Bon Bon that actually sounds like a pretty good idea.

Yes he did. This is more about what people might themselves think a Bon Bon newspaper might be like, though.

I was just thinking of how such a newspaper might be like. Like the kind of news it would feature, possible modelling pinups, personal ads and such.

yeah but what kind of news would be in the paper ...would it be current events outside the life of bon bon like whats happening in France or England, cause other then gossip or shop ads there doesn't seem to be paper worthy IMO

I've been thinking that I don't really know much about the residents of Bon Bon's view on outside news. I haven't seen anything that would suggest that they are indifferent to what's going on in the rest of the world, so I'd assume that such a newspaper would include news from around the world. You're right that without it there probably wouldn't be much need of a newspaper.

Well if you consider how many influential or at least wealth visitors Bon Bon must have they might have something like a tabloid at the least. Something full of rumors about the outside world, or stories told by the visitors.

I think that given you aren't allowed to ask people about their backgrounds in BonBon, that possibly outside news in general might be kept down low, barring the most important things. I'd expect news about people especially would be rare, otherwise you run a risk of crossing that law, especially if the people you write about come to town.

hat about current events world wide, being secluded I am sure the people in Bon Bon would like to know whats happening in the outside world. I also think that it might feature well as said by Symphony it would be more like Playboy. You could of course ask with permission by the person if they would like to be in the newspaper.

As well as possible erotic short stories written by the writers in Bon Bon.

((Morning Symphony,

For me, I'd put the Bon Bon Newspaper more as a monthly journal / magazine than an actual newspaper. It just seems more... akin to a travel guide than a daily newspaper. Or maybe like a Farmer John's Almanac. I could see it being published weekly, but... monthly just seems to make a bit more sense. For whatever odd reason, I don't see it being more "Playboy" or even "Maxim" or "Cosmopolitan" or "GQ" in nature. I actually see the weekly magazine being kinda tame.

So... instead of randy stories or gossip, maybe the magazine would have fashion articles for the men and women, seasonal weather reports or holiday recepies, upcoming town events, new arrivals in town or new shops opening up, special events going on at the art museam or something, maybe some sporting news for baseball or golf, a bit of world news such as world's fairs or regonal celebrations, and maybe even some health reminders. It might have some local advertisements to help keep it a free newspaper.

So... that's my quick thoughts on it.))

Excuse me I have not gone away, gone quiet for a bit I admit just found it hard to create stories without help. I am one guy and not a machine.

The Bon Bon bastion is published even if you don't see it. I just haven't had the time to post anything and what I created was just awful.

I can see this working as well. I think it really depends on just how much the sexual business and activity of Bon Bon affects other aspects of the community, such as the newspaper. I'm also still not sure how much the people of Bon Bon want regular news from the outside world.

I'd like to read Vanessa's thought on what a newspaper in Bon Bon might be like. Curious

I'm not sure about the rest of it, but I am sure the classifieds portion would be quite large compared to the rest of the paper. Seems the place where everyone is always looking for someone or something. Or looking to be rid of someone or something.

((Symphony,

I was doing a bit more thinking about this, and I was thinking, if the newspaper did have a sexual lean to it... for some reason I see it more being an "instructional" sort of guide instead of a harliquen-romance sort of thing. You know like, an "Ask Dr. Ruth" sort of section about sexuality, positions, healthy sexual living, alternative ways to excite your partner, new toys and devices, a how-to guide to building adult paraphanaliea, that sort of thing. Maybe where you read a subscribers question or two, and then Dr. Ruth goes and explains things and stuff. If that makes any sense.))

Yes, it's stuff like that I've been thinking of as well. The kind of articles you might see in many other magazines, just with a highly sexual theme, yet still being classy and not outright pornographic.

Sort of like what Playboy used to be? I heard it was actually quite a good piece of journalism back in the day.

I don't know enough about Playboy to comment on the quality of their articles, but I'm imagining it to be something along the lines of what I'm thinking a Bon Bon newspaper would be like.

I like the whole idea. I see a Bon Bon paper as primarily a place for the local businesses to advertise, non-invasive interviews with people of interest, fashion, theater, local government notices, and lots of classifieds. I wonder if Betty would allow a "view from the Castle", or "coming events" column.

I have to keep reminding myself that it's the 1890s ... the newspapers of the day were the only method of getting information. I'd be amazed if there wasn't a local paper, and they would have had a captive market as there was nothing to compete with it.

Playboy used to be a good read, with pictures. It's not what it used to be, but there's still some editorial content. I remember when they interviewed Woodward and Bernstein just before the Watergate scandal broke. It's not what it was.

you could put activities. like a band is supposed to be playing at the castle named something (andrew wolaf and jessie john michael osbourne). but thats just an idea. i see this as a magazine more than a newspaper.
