The Bon Bon Bastion, Issue Six, Christmas Special

Carol Concert

Greetings and the new good news shall begin with, the sweet Ladies of the Castle have again promised a carol concert. At least that is what I think they are offering. Several of the illustrious ladies have said that for a reasonable price they will sing to the rafters this Christmas time.

Although this doggy is unsure of precisely what carols they mean they have said that all taking part will thorough enjoy this special offer. Even Betty has promised to be there to join the fun although she admits she doesn’t get to participate as often as she would like.

As before a famous local has offered his organ for the concert. However last year he was unavailable for weeks afterward because he said for the most part, he was a soloist. Groups of good organists are required.

Kommy Fuchs Requests A Tester

The famous scientific vixen request a male fox for an experiment she wishes to try over the Christmas period. She has specific requirements and has told me them recently.

Local nutseller, Meg Hazelnut, is apparently offering an end of year sale. She has told us that for the right nuts she has the perfect place and it will be a great present for the lucky fellow. This reporter is slightly confused as she should be selling nuts not buying them.

He shows pictures of a female singer in full flow on a stage. He grins and whispers, "No Lidia, darling I am an only child, and my mother wasn't a performer. That is me."

The ferret gasps and Goldie adds, "Goldie Lily ain't been caught out yet."

The BonBon Bastion

Back and Not Happy

Newspaper editor and owner spends four months at the pleasure of the BonBon authorities. Recently this reporter has been notably absent from his post. The paper has been on hold due to a certain fellow making unfounded and damned impossible claims about me. Sufficient to say the proof was dubious at best.

A BonBon notable had claimed that I had attempted a crime I shall not name here. I would first say that I would never and could never do such an evil thing. All the character references in the world seemed worthless till I was saved by the intervention of a true Princess.

Dearest Elizabeth my heartfelt and sincerest thanks, your expert testimony proved that I could not attempt such a thing to the satisfaction of the Judge and jury. This reporter is very relieved, next came the matter of the return of my goods and chattels. This was not so easy and another resident who has cause to hate the perpetrator of my unjust trial helped me recover them. Sweet Randy my sweetest thanks and come round I would love to reward you personally.

Darling Lydia, you did me proud by rallying my support. If only you were not a girl I would surely propose to you.

Now to the certain individual in question. This paper is unbiased and will remain so. You threats are bluster and wind from a source I know well but shall not name. I will not be cowed, bullied or made to retract one true word I write.

Helped to a table the dog sits and sighs, "Gosh, you are real pretty, sir."

*the young ferret walked out of the kitchen, holding a tray full of triangle-shape peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich, walked towards the table, occupied by Goldie and Leaf, and gently set the tray on the middle.*

What's a tea party without some snack to chow down on. *giggle.*

If any of you needs me, I'll be cleaning then kitchen. *smile*

*Before dismissing herself, she walk to Goldie; then gives him a big hug and rub his shoulder, comforting him; then quietly makes her way to the kitchen.*

Leaf smiled to himself as he is led inside the reporter's home. Although the rabbit was looking at the decor, he couldn't help but feel a little worried about the retriever's nervousness.

"He must still be shook up from the incident I read about in his paper, Leaf thought to himself. I hope I can find a way to make him feel at ease."

After helping the reporter with the tea tray, he took a seat in front of him. He watched as a lady ferret placed a tray full of sandwiches on the table and comfort Goldie.

The rabbit blushed at Goldie's compliment. "Erm... Th-Thank you, sir." Leaf picks up his tea cup and takes a sip of tea. "Allow me to introduce myself, sir. My name is Leaf Thornton and I run a bookstore across the street from François' Plus Beaux. It's called The Gilded Pen."

He sets down his teacup back on its saucer and picks up a sandwich. He takes a small bite, noting the taste of the freshly made jam. "I came here because recently, I've had more stock than I can sell normally. I'm planning to have a sale to get rid of the excess stock and I was wondering if I could get an advert for it in your paper."

Goldie leans over kissing the rabbit's softly furred cheek then blushes, "Sorry, i forgot myself I just meant to say thank you, not kiss you. I have missed good company and closeness of another."

He pulls out a pad, "Would you like a quarter page, half page or full page for the advert."

Smiling sweetly he sighs, "What a beautiful buck you truly are."

The rabbit crossed his legs and shifted himself in his chair to get more comfortable. "About the advertisement, I think a quarter page will do for me."

When Goldie complimented him on his looks, he felt a little nervous.
"Erm... Th-thanks. I never had a man tell me that before."

The rabbit then though quietly to himself, "What's the matter with me? I shouldn't be acting like this. Just stay calm, you goof!"

A blush flew across the rabbit's face. "But, I wonder what it's like with someone whose the same gender as... Gah! What am I thinking?

Goldie flicks a look at the slightly raised rump and gives a soft growl, "You must take some exercise. Leaf, may I call you Leaf."

Goldie sits back down next to Leaf and grins happily, "Say don't be so nervous, I don't bite, lick possibly but never bite."

The rabbit then turned to look at Goldie. "Erm, sir? I'm not going to lie to you, as it wouldn't be proper. The fact is I never had a man hold a great deal of interest in the same way you have. I'm not even sure how to act and... and I don't even know if I would return such feelings. I don't want to hurt you."
