The hunt or the fight, that's what it comes down to. When you spend most of your time trying to avoid being seen, you come to know the darkness like he's your best friend. One you have a good time playing pranks with. Making people get jumpy cause they don't know what's moving in the bushes. Such a delight to see a startled soul moving towards a breaking twig then turn at the sudden rush of movement behind them, knowing all they saw was more black.

However, the darkness is also a time to sleep, and it always seems the mind wanders when trying to sleep. Sure, getting to the target is the fun part, but it's what you do to them that haunts you. Imagine looking at your blood red stripes and seeing faces of mutilated bodies smiling at you as the light shimmers on the fur. That's when you find the truest darkness, that within the soul.
