Dude, you slipped an 'eh' in there, how close to Canada are you?

Where I'm from, we're so Scandinavian (heritage), well watch 'Fargo' or reference Betty White's character from the Golden Girls and you'll get the idea.... Confused

That's not a bad example there, Kiala.

But I personally imagine my fursona to have a slightly more powerful voice. It's a bit difficult to explain.

Here's the voice that inspired me to pick opera singer as occupation, and I think it's a pretty good example of what Constance would sound like when singing:

Very beautiful indeed, many a long evening I would spend listening to that sweet voice again and again. Embarassed Very Happy

My dad grew up in the Northen half (Upper Peninsula, or "U.P.") of Michigan, which basically shares a border with Canada. There's also a lot of people with Finnish, Scandanavian, German, Flemish, and French ancestry there. It makes sense that "Yoopers" (people you live in the U.P.) share a similar accent with Canadians, Minnesotans, etc. Fargo's a pretty good approximation of the Yooper accent, but for a real authentic Yooper dialect I suggest the movie Escanaba in da Moonlight, directed by and starring Jeff Daniels.

Well, thanks to Vanessa styling my ball gown, as well as my quote and the various quotes I use from Dick Tracy. Madonna in the role of Breathless is what you can expect from Mystic.

Sadly, I can't find any clips here and there of her speaking parts, but I do have this from YouTube singing one of my favorite songs from the movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUwSJkzo5Vw

I warn you though, its very quiet and then theres the loud slurping of Lips Manlis. Embarassed

Clipped, precised, a touch cold or detached. Sometimes tinged with sardonic amusement. Excellent control over the thickness of her native German accent. However, I have very little knowledge of actors and voice actors, so this is all I can say.

Still waiting for the guy who sounds like Tony Jay, though. It's hard for me to resist that voice...

I always wondered where you got your old signature from, Mystic. Now I know. Wink

That's a lovely voice. I believe it fits perfectly with your image, Mystic.

Hmm. I had someone in mind for you, Kommy, but I can't for the life of me remember who now.

Heh, for some reason I was imagining you sounding like Ilsa from the infamous Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS and its sequels... Call me crazy, but there's something hot about a dominating, authoritative woman with a German accent.

I can't really find a perfect match for what I imagine my own fursona to sound like when talking. My first thought was something along the lines of Jane Symour:

but I'm really not sure.

Yes, it's not quite the right voice. I'm looking for a warm, mature voice. I'll have to keep looking, as I really have to find a good example of a fitting voice.

How about Elizabeth Hurley:

I've always liked her, and her British accent would fit. Is this any good? Would her voice suit my fursona?

Thank you for the suggestion of Liam Neeson it does indeed suit my avatar much better. I had forgotten his portrayal of Rob Roy; If I may I would like to change my "voice" to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwPCs-kjyIg

As for your own fursona may I suggest Dame Diana Rigg.

I actually thought that Liam Neeson might sound too Irish for you, but that example from Rob Roy is very good.

And thanks for suggesting a voice for my fursona. I really don't know what I think she should sound like anymore, and I seem to be getting more and more confused the more examples I hear. I don't think that I'll be able to find the perfect one, though I keep thinking of someone I can't remember who is, so it might just be best if people just imaginbe what she'd sound like themselves.

You are too right, Herr Burke... I still melt a bit on hearing that smooth, erudite baritone, though.

I am not sure about that Dr. Tenenbaum's voice for my own. But it's better than anything else I've heard, particularly as it's not a steretypical SS girl fetish actor. 'Ve haff vays to mak you talk.' Bah. Razz

I was curious what route you'd take for your voice Johnny. Go for someone with a Native American accent or someone with a trickster like personality. I almost half see you pulling off Jack Nicoholson with that constant grin you sport.

So Kommy, you don't want someone with a strong, almost cliche like accent? So no Xenia Onatopp for the boys?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBBQ7D6QeJY&feature=related or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj6DG4AKb30&feature=related Though, once again I'm failing to put you with a German accent, and instead equipping you with a Russian one.Razz

Hmm, what about Halle Berry for you Symphony? Given that your a sleek and fit ebony mare.

I've thought f Halle Berry before, but I think I'm looking for a slightly more warm and seductive voice. I've really just about given up finding a fitting example.

I don't have the "Native American" accent myself... having grown up off of the reservation, my accent is more Midwestern. I was going along the same way with my fursona, except with a more Western flair, and "Captain Mal" was just handy. However, I may have found a pretty good example of what Johnny sounds like when he's being more jovial and less quiet...

The below clip comes from the movie Powwow Highway, starring Gary Farmer (one of my favorite Native actors) and A. Martinez, made in 1989. Cherokee actor Wes Studi (another of my favorites) makes a cameo appearance in the clip (start at 0:20, the guy in the cowboy hat who walks in the door)...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qpS5Y5tpMY
That's pretty much how I see Johnny not only acting, but sounding when he's in a jovial (and randy) mood.

The only other clips I could find of Wes Studi are more recent, and he's quite a bit older than I or my fursona are in those clips, so it doesn't quite work.

And for anyone not knowing how a good Native American accent sounds, here's a good clip from Smoke Signals.
