((Hey Rune174,
Have you picked up anything yet for the PS3? Any first thoughts on the system as a whole? I'm getting kinda eye-rolling disappointed in all the xbox talk, so... I figured I might as well talk about the more-awesome system I have.
And, before anyone jumps on my case, that was a JOKE. A poor attempt at humor by making light of the fact that PS3 / Xbox seems very similar to the Ford/Chevy debates people tend to have. And, I also understand that I'll get yelled at for explaining my joke before I give anyone a chance to try to see the humor in it. So... yeah. )) |

I've not even heard of the Sinclair. It must be only used in your local region.
Caroline: I have bought mostly the Final Fantasy games through the PSN (Mostly Classics), though I intend to get Final Fantasy Versus when it comes out. You probably already know how much of an avid fan I am of the now highly critisized series. XIII was a joke, and XIII-2 does'nt sound like it will be much better. _________________

((Hey Rune174,
If it makes you feel any better, I actually enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2. It was kinda fun playing "dress-up" with the girls. So... I'm hardly one to talk. )) |

Don't worry, I enjoyed X-2 as well, even if it was a little watered down from the previous version. Still, it kinda brought the job system back and it was interesting to see each of the girls individually with the various classes. _________________

The super dresses seemed kinda useless though. _________________ Fursona Info.

((Hey Rune174,
I've never disliked Final Fantasy... but I've never really liked it either.
Okay... time to show my age.
When I first started playing/seeing the Final Fantasy games, I was more into the Western RPG. So... D&D, Pools of Radiance, Might and Magic, Bard's Tale, Eye of the Beholder... that sort of thing. Final Fantasy and he Final Fantasy series were... weird to me. Not bad, but... I didn't really get into it. I mean, I was still kinda obsessed with the idea that you can't have guns in a fantasy setting... and I didn't really understand what cyberpunk or steampunk were either. So... while I played a bunch of the Final Fantasy games, I really didn't think they were good or bad. Just... weirdly different.
Now that I'm older, I can't get into them either... as the ways games are now drafted/designed has changed. Again, not saying that the old way was better, just the new concept has changed. BTW saying a game is "Old" or "Classic" doesn't necessarily mean "Fun" or "Good"... it means the game is "Old" or "Classic." It peeves me when posters just blanketly state that, "Oh, those old games were awesome. So much better than now." And then don't give any reasons as to why they think the older games are better. I hate random encounters. I think that's one of the reasons Bard's Tale and Valk Profile sold me so much. I could "see" the monsters before I had to fight them... and could therefore avoid them if I wanted too. Anyway, back on track.
So... I've played the gammit of Final Fantasy games... from the Nintendo, to the PlayStation, to the Nintendo64, to the Super Nintendo, to the PS2 and beyond.
So... no harm in following what you enjoy.
OH! That reminds me. Have you tried Disgaea 4 yet? Or Disgaea 3? )) |
