Shane had disarmed his opponent. But rolling away had saved Wolf from a 'killing blow'. Shane returned his blade once more to his side and waited, a smile twisting up the side of his face in amusement.

[Wolf Stride]

Wolf took hold of his edgeless metal and held it foward. Now, this was fun and a small grin began surfacing on the corner of his mouth. In order to beat someone wo is skilled at using all his other sense to see his surroundings, he had to beat him in sound and smell. For now, he was going to attempt sound. With one quick breath, Wolf kneeled in place and held his breth in hard, not making so much as a single noise all around as the air continued to pick up and blow pleasant garden smells about.

Shane felt the sudden drop out of Wolf's presence. Turning ever so slightly, Shane had a fair idea of what Wolf would attempt. The white wolf twisted his ear in the direction and focus all his attenion on listen. His own heartbeat pounded inside his ear. The slightest breeze whistled loudly across the ground and then Shane heard it, Wolf's heartbeat.

With lightning speed, Shane lunged forward and to the left of Wolf. Swinging his sword out to his right, Shane grasped it with both hands and swung it forward in a powerful, two handed horizontal slash aimed at Wolf's neck.

[Wolf Stride]

Wolf's idea didn't work. If sound was the problem and the possibility of his opponent being able to hear his heartbeat, made Wolf's idea useless. He would need to find a way to silence his heartbeat, which would be nigh on impossible.

Shane quickly approached his prone form with an attack prepared. Wolf would most likely be pinned down ins uch a situation and so, rolled to the side and took a quick swipe of his own weapon at the back of Shane's knee.

Shane never stopped, even when his blade hit open air. As he blazed passed Wolf, Shane felt the air move around his knees as Wolf's sword barely missed.

Turning immediately, Shane returned to his ready position, the sword at his side.

'He's quite skilled.'

Wolf had to admire his skill, as the fact that he was blind made all his sense all the more heightened to a superfur level and even further. This time, Wolf went on the offensive and threw a quick swipe to his left side.

Shane quickly took a step back, withdrawing as Wolf's blade went passed. With his opponent open, Shane altered his approach and began his attack.

The Arctic Wolf's attacks came fast and swift. They were not powerful, but that was not their purpose. Relentlessly, Shane attacked from the sides, above and straight ahead. To the untrained eye, it would seem that Shane was flailing desperately at Wolf but each thrust was carefully measured and deliberate. The techinique was not designed to fatally wound the opponent, rather, it was meant to overwhelm him, throw him off balance and even disarm him if the opponent wasn't skilled enough to withstand the onslaught of speedy advances.

[Wolf Stride]

Each move was skillfully executed. This wasn't a simple technique as each attack continued to keep Wolf on edge, barely blocking and deflecting each incoming strike as it were. The only choice Wolf could do is match Shane's speed and remain defensive for now, until an opening made itself present. The only problem that seemed to present itself, was that Shane was making Wolf back up, not being able to keep with such speed.

The technique was based on repetition, a pattern of the same strokes being repeated over and over. Even with the mind being preoccupied by fending off the blows, it would eventually become clear that a pattern was there. This was where the techinique seemed to have a flaw, this is where the technique hid its strength. Just when the opponent thought they could anticipate the next attack, the attacker would change the next stroke and slash at an exposed opening while the opponent moved to defend where they thought the blow was going to come from.

The strikes kept repeating their positions and continued to move about in the same direction. Wolf could block and hopefully make a strike foward, but it would be anticipated by Shane, leaving him exposed and unable to guard against a possibly crippling blow.

Wolf was starting to get anxious now. Finding an opening in the pattern would leave him open and trying something else seemed out of the question, seeing as hewould be matched in terms of speed. Then, the last thing in his mind, sprang foward. Wolf literally pushed foward in the split second between hits and swung foward at full strentgh with both hands holding the hilt of the blade.

Shane reacted quickly. Taking an immdeiate defensive position, he held up his blade and the two pieces of steel kissed, grinding agaisnt each other in a contest of strength as wolf and wolf fought for the upper hand.

If Shane outmatched him in terms of speed, Wolf could outmatch him in terms of strentgh. Now was the time to go on the offensive as the scratching of metal against metal continued to screech about, Wolf continuously pushing down on the hilt as he did so. With a step foward, he continued to push against his opponent.

Shane took a step back. He had to withdraw, there was nothing he could do in this lock. Quickly, Shaned stepped back once more then moved to the side, fending off his opponent's blade as he put a few feet of distance between them.


"Not too bad," Shane said.

Wolf lost his balance and went foward with the sword as Shane pulled back. Using the sword, he jabbed it at the ground before him and used it as a hold to retain his footing. He looked up with a smirk, in order to answer Shane.

"I must say the same for you. Whaat I can't best in speed, I must best in strentgh."

Wolf grabbed the blade with his right hand and held it down, like an assasin would hold his weapon. In a sudden dash, a blur of black cloth headed in direction of Shane, it's blade in direction of his left knee.

Though it may not have been heard by most, the air shifting around Wolf's blade made a subtle whistling. A whistling that was clear to Shane's ears and told him exactly where Wolf's weapon was. Shane took a defensive stand and acting wuickly, swung his blade across in front of him, deflecting Wolf's weapon to the side.

Shane's move had left Wolf unable to do much of anything. Wolf had decided to rely on strentgh a little too much on this next move and when his opponent literaly 'bat' his blade to the side, Wolf almost lost his blade again. Nonetheless, the blade swung to the floor quickly and lost all control from Wolf's hand, but it caused something that would be quite usefull. Momentum. Such an opportunity presented itself and with a quick hold of his weapon, he decided to swing the blade down by the floor and up at Shane from below.

Shane stepped back defebsively as he delfected Wolf's first attack. He needed to retreat, give himself room to maneuvor. If Wolf came at him with another assault of strength at this close range, Shane would be overpowered quickly. So Shane continued to move back swiftly as Wolf comboed with a second attack.

A growl escaped Wolf's muzzle. Shane was quick. He was VERY quick. This was now a matter of outmatching the other, be it in strategy, raw combat or otherwise. There was no point in staring at the dulled edge that only hit nothing but air as it's intended mark made a hasty retreat. Wolf gave chase, this time holding the blade with both hands and intending to repeat the same trick of overpowering Shane. With a quick movement, both hands raised up the hilt and began coming down at Shane.

Shane's lips curled in asmile. Wolf's weapons was high, he was exposed. Quickly, Shane changed his direction and lunged forward, almost jarring his knee with the sudden change in momentum. He moved with speed and accuracy, extending his arm and weapon to full length, aiming for his opponent's throat.

This was bad. Shane had switched directions and his movements where akin to a blur. Just being able to see him in motion was incredible enough and worse of all, Wolf lunged foward in reaction. His entire front is open and he isn't quick enough to block Shane. If his sword had aimed for anywhere by his face, it would surely do more than just knock him unconscious. The only thing he could do, was lower his weapon in an attempt to defend, but sadly, the only thing he managed to lower was his hilt. He wasn't fast enough.

Shane stopped, the blunted edge of his blade coming to rest at Wolf's throat. Had the match been real, Wolf would have had no choice but to conceed. At the slightest move, Shane would have only to push forward and Wolf's blood would run from his neck down the blade. But the match was friendly and the weapons blunted. Shane just smiled.

Wolf slowly lowered his blade and pushed Shane's aside.
