I really doubt that Betty will dislike Mary. This is not her fault if Red broke her heart. Also, William shouldn't be nervous. I doubt that Red will tell. Afterall, Red sys to Betty that he still owed him money and it would be a shame to lose money for no good reason. Simon Blue pays Wilson really well. He will have the money by the time he got married.

It would be stupid for Red to admit that he had sex with Betty the day before he came ask for Mary's hand. The problem is that secrets tends to spread. The first law offer protection but unofficially truth risk show. Mary will talk to Betty, she will be nervous or will keep looking at Red and this could rise suspicions. Mary is naive but not stupid.
Ce mariage risque de ne pas être si heureux que ça.

What I find interesting is how much the latest page mirrors the flashback scene of Mary and Red in issue 6 page 2-4. It's in part because it visually resembles the scene in the flashback. They've both matured, of course, but the outdoor setting is very similar. Notice how the garden looks less orderly than in the flashback. That's actually commented on by Simon in issue 3 page 11.
Another thing is how Mary is pretty much only interested in hearing about Betty. That's the same as in the flashback. It makes me wonder who she'd rather spend time with and how a future meeting will be for them all. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

I think it is mostly that Mary is keen to learn anything about what's going on outside the boundaries of her father's estate. After all, her own dream is doing fine and I'm sure she thinks Red is as wonderful as ever. Besides, asking about mutual friends and the activities in your community is a pretty normal conversation starter. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

Not to mention that Betty is basely the only person she knows outside of the confines of her own home, not counting Red. Of course she is going to inquire about the only other friend she has. _________________

| My question is does Red really want Mary? or is it more important to him to honor his fathers vows. It almost seemed more important to him to tell Simon that he made his fortune and joined the "claws" then to see Mary. |

Red wants Betty.
Red feels obliged to marry Mary because it was his father's dying wish. _________________

That's rude and uncalled for, Silvador. Why not just point to the pages of the comic where Avrie might find the answer to his questions? _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

Thanks Symphony ... and yes I read the comic, I'm just a little confused. In comic 5 after Betty and Red got together Betty worries that her relationship with Red will cause problems for her and Mary; and they put it aside stating the engagement was broken off three years ago. Then in comic 6 Red tells Betty that he's going to ask Simon to reinstate the engagement because it was his fathers dying wish. I'm just wondering when he decided his fathers wishes were more important to him than Betty, or his own happiness; And where does that leave poor Mary? ... Is this about love, or simply fore filling an obligation? I feel bad for Mary.
I'm so naive about stuff like this |

well if you think out of the box silvador thats kind of true. But from the look on reds face means hes probly heard the story about a few hundred times | What story? You mean the one about Simon finding Mary and Betty together? I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about Red no having the brain capacity to figure out what Mary meant by 'girly things'. I mean, come on! She lives on the edge of a town built on and around sex, her closest friend runs the main attraction in said town. Mary lives alone and secluded in her father's mansion. Of course her friend is going to give her a taste of what is outside the prison walls. Not to mention that both girls are adults. The time for innocent play passes at around age 12. Girls mature a lot faster than most guys and even though they may not publicly display it, they are often just as sexually driven as guys are. _________________

Nice back door way of inserting some porn into the all story part.
And it's Daphne porn so it's a double win. |

I wonder if we will have an another flashback. The last story part ended by a flashback so this would made a lot in a short time. Of course, they can teach us a lot about why things are like that and why the characters act like this currently but we can guess what happened.
Anyway, their conversations is tense. Logical since Mary didn't have the luck to develop her social skill a lot alone. The fine art of conversation is something Mary have to master. She have yet to learn the art to dodge ankward subjects and manipulate conversation towards pleasant domains.
Elle va apprendre beaucoup après avoir quitter sa cage dorée.

This would indeed be a perfect spot to lead into a flashback from that day when Simon found out about Betty and Mary.
I'd like to know what happened that day, but I'd also like to see the story continue, to see what happens when Mary goes to Bon Bon. I wonder if she'll be accompained by Red or Wiliam. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

| Well, Simon being the overprotective father, I don't think he trusts Red enough to send Mary into town alone with him. William is the "safe" bet in his eyes so if Mary does go into town, William will be there with or without Red. For an effective story I'd say to send Mary into town with William and let Red and Simon get caught up. This way we can see what happens with William's true identity. |

Red has just shown up to follow through with an agreed marriage to Mary. I dare say that Simon would feel perfectly comfortable with Red being alone with Mary. He probably thinks the guy is respectable and decent and 'a sure bet'.
I only wish that we would be able to bare witness to the things that would happen to him should Simon be the one to find out what Red did before dropping by. I shudder to think what that mess would look like in the end, but I think it's safe to assume that Ronald's injury would look like a mosquito bite in comparison. _________________

I agree. I'd really like to see the two of them head into town together. Both for some more interaction between them, and because I'd like to see how William would react to showing Mary around Bon Bon. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

It's hard to add my two cents to the disscussion when everyone has already covered what I'd add, but at least I can say I still look forward to the further bends and turns of the story. So much of the town's past is still shrouded in fog... _________________ Path of Darkness Chapter 12 is up! Read it here: http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5240

She's quick on her feet, that Mary. Almost slipped a little too much, but none's the wiser during their little conversation. All the secrets everyone in this town has, really brings to mind the "If these walls could talk" saying. _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |
