The silence raged throughout the manor. Through the halls and empty rooms were nothing, but there were memories still. Ones that laughed and some that cried and even a few that left you empty inside. Or at least they would if you were the sole inhabitant of such a place. Whispers of what once was drifted through the west wing's hall and up the tower to the top room. It was there that the candles flickered around the decor of the one room alive within all that was barren.
"I believe this place would be the end of me. All my time here, I just couldn't let go of the past. This is the new chapter of my life, so why can't I just put it behind me? I have to, but first I need to find a way." Samuel spoke to himself. At the end, grabbing his finer clothes and made his way through the darkened shell of a house and into the town, making his way towards the castle. |
