Hello, my name is Runai Kaltsere,

As a resident of this mysterious town, my life has been made doing honest work, performing my responsibilites with the best effort possible and more. I find it hard to believe that it has been nearly three years now since I have first entered this promiscuous, yet lively town of Bon Bon, so much now that I find it necessary to write down my memories here so I may never forget who I am.

So far, I am known mostly as the Jack of Some trades, working by the season to earn my keep in this town. By Spring I act as a bodyguard for hire, often at Castle Delight when added security was necessary. During the Summer, my skills as the town's linguist and symbologist help when people are in need of it. And during the Fall, I help outside towns with harvesting fruits and vegetables, which, in turn, helps provides some of the towns food. My Winters are usually spent here as my holiday season, to which the new year cycle begins again.

This sort of living is managable, but six years ago, it was quite different. Each day of life was an ordeal, no job, and my father's business went out of out of existence after he died, traveling from country to country. But since my father's gambling habits outweighed his will to me, I was left with nothing but the clothes on my back.

So now my pledge lays with this town, content and happy with what I have, even though sometimes I get caught in ackward moments. Now I hope that my memories will lay safely within these pages as a reminder that without them, I would not be as priviledged as I am now.

This is the story before Runai Kaltsere's arrival in the town of Bon Bon, a small biography if you will. It will lead to his arrival, a point of his life that changes drastically.

This is no longer a joinable RP

This story still goes by the sites timeline, so I hope you enjoy reading it.

It was the coldest weather ever, snow falling down by the droves, the wind, as sharp as ever against even the thickest of furs, and the tough insects of this part of the world lay dormant beneath the frost. At the plateau of a hill near the Inca mountains, a young vulpine boy knelt before a makeshift grave, neither marked, or any other means of identifying it as such. He could not cry, nor find the strength to in his grief. His father left him at such a young age, years of strain and hardship finally getting to him.

With emerald eyes and black, obsidian fur surrounding his body, he was kept warm and dry only by the equally black poncho and white scarf passed down to him from his father. He looked rather lean and thin for his age, the years of traveling, moving heavy objects and helping his father's business helped him to develop quickly, but without him, it all seemed to fade in an instant. In this day and age, the young grew up quickly to adapt to such harsh conditions.

The Kaltsere family was one that prided itself in the merchant life, nomads who sold their wares proudly and with respect. As the years grew on, however, things changed: Bandits had killed off more than half the family through raids and robbings, and the taxes for importing goods from one country to the next made traversing the highways almost impossible without protection. With Kaimer Kaltsere finally gone, his only son, Runai, was the last to carry on the family name.

It was not only Kaimer's death that grew into a tragedy, but because of his habits of visiting local casinos. His gambling grew into an unhealthy relationship with winning, and with his debts running up. Everything that would have gone to his son was all spent paying off those bills that plagued him, leaving nothing behind, and making the merchant business impossible. It was because without any wares to sell, then the idea of being a merchant was null.

The young fox stood there, waiting until the cold was too much to take any longer, and padded his way back to his makeshift campsite, a small cave at the base of one of the steeper hills. It was home for now, but without a job, he would have to go out on the road again until somebody would hire a boy with only simple life experiences.

Sure his father taught him how to fence and use a sword for kendo, but it was nothing he had too much practice there. One thing he loved doing was threshing wheat, a simple pleasure he loved doing from season to season, however, it started to become just that, a memory. He could read and write, but beyond simple language practices, and some cyphers he tried to use to relate from one language to the next, expecially Japanese, he did not have much experience there either.

Runai sighed, in his love for his father, he did not have much else to bank on to even provide for himself. He pondered his dilemma as he padded the rocky terrain to his campsite, and when he arrived, he cursed. The fire was out and it would take a good hour to make a new one. By the time he had finally finished, a large fire was crackling at the center, with him asleep at the wall in the back. It was becoming a long day.

Two Days Later

Runai sighed expressively, through the past couple of days, his luck with finding a job had been horrible, going through one interview after the next in the town closest to his father's grave. To him, he did not want to leave his father's grave just yet.

"IS IT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR JUST A SINGLE JOB!!!", the words echoed down the mountain side, leaving him panting from the thin air surrounding him.

Apparently, the stigma from his father's gambling stung in more ways in one, and it showed in just the past interview.

Earlier that day.

"So mister.... Kaltseer, is it?" Asked the store clerk as he began the interview.

Runai shook his head, "No sir, its actually Kaltsere", he replied, not knowing he had dug his own grave in this matter.

The store clerk narrowed his eyes, settling the spectacles over the bridge of his nose.

"Ah yes, now I remember, I believe you are the son of a mister Kaimer Kaltsere?", he asked, looking at Runai in a suspcious manner. When he nodded to his question, the man removed his spectacles like he had a headache.

"Oh yes, now I remember, your father owes us money, and it would not be in this store's best interest to hire somebody of your.... lineage"

Those words stung like salt to the wound when Runai was flung from the small shop

Henk saw a angry looking black fox coming out a shop. The fox was so angry that he walked right against Henk.

BOEM

"Hey, young one. Look out where are you walking!" Henk put some dust from his jack and takes the fox from head to toes. "Why are you looking so angry at me, do I know you?"

Rap rap rap

Fingers drummed against the hardwood counter inside the Elinor Pub in Northern Ireland. Their owner, the young vulpine, Runai, who had spent the past few years searching for himself, finally had his chance as a sword for hire. It had been frustrating at first, but further west, after avoiding familiar faces who did'nt have any connections with his father's debts, he finally landed a gig as a hired bodyguard for an industrious gun maker.

It was strange how life seemed to become better if one gave their best effort, and it seemed like luck was finally looking up to the vulpine.

"Something troubling ya youngun", came a friendly voice beside him, shaking Runai from his thoughts as he smoothed out the ruffles of his poncho.

He shook his head, ordering an ale for his stalwart comrade. "No, actually, you came at the right moment Machi"

In the life of a bodyguard, it was'nt uncommon to be paired up with more than one pair of hands, especially for industry when swords were outdated and malpracticed. Machi turned out to be one of the three others who were hired as well, along with Kelp and Fremere.

Machi was almost as his name sounded, a large burly brown bear with a seasoned look in his demeanor, which was a front for how nice of a person he really was. It only took a few moments for him and Runai to be fast friends.

"Nervous yet", the brown behemoth asked, downing his drink in seconds flat, smacking his lips and complimented the barmaids, only to get a slap to the face for travelling his paw too far up a passing vixen's thigh.

Runai nodded slowly, it had only been a month since he had gotten this gig, "If I was'nt, I'm pretty sure I'd be first up on the chopping block". He smiled for the first time in what felt like forever. In a manner of speaking, he had to thank his father for forcing him so far away from the east. If he had'nt, he never would have found people who were new and exotic to him, making the entire trip worth it. Besides, once they finished next week upon arrival to Britain, he would be set up with enough money to earn a living and get a new job, and with this opportunity fulfilled, he was open to any kind of job.
