Thanks Ashton, most of the martial arts I present here are from my years of studying. There are some styles I haven't learned but I do now many other practitioners and masters to gain their wisdom and knowledge.

I recommend learning KaJuKenBo, if you have'nt already. It's simple and effective. A good style to fall back on, especially if you are of large stature, as it does'nt require a lot of delicate movements or jumping, so you can fight without having to do or worry about over-thinking.

Did you learn their language while you were in China, Korea, or Japan?

Well, as for Mandarin I learned it while I first started training under Sifu Li who did speak English but told me I would lose the true value of everything he was teaching me.As for Korean,I lost most of it but retain just enough to get around.Lastly I lived in Japan for three years so I have a pretty good understanding of it.

I hear that word a lot, "Chi."

What exactly is "Chi", Mr. DesertWolf?

Is it another word for a person's soul?

Is is another level of the human body besides bones, muscles, skin?

Is it a specific area in the body?

Chi or Qi as it is sometimes spelled literally means breath or air.It is an energy that travels throughout the body via meridians. In Chinese medicine as well as martial arts it is necessary to have control and proper flow of Chi to keep the body maintained and healthy.

Chi is air. An energy to keep the body healthy and balance.

And here I thought it is some kind of hidden talents part of the body that helps the healthy body become stronger.

Before modern science could explain a lot of the mystical abilities, many martial artists believed that by controlling Chi,a person could harden his body to the point that most weapons and hand-hand techniques would be useless, others could destroy bricks, tile, and even iron with the proper control.

Yeah. We all seen a lot of that.

I first thought, "Why do they do such stupid things to risk their life?"

But now, I think it is because a person wants to know how far a human body could go and see if they could surpass the body's limits.

What do you mean by "the body being controlled by the conscious mind?"

Okay, so this is something that's been at me a while. Why are there five elements (Fire, Water, Earth, Metal & Wood) unlike the natural view (Fire, Water, Air, Earth)?

Well Lidia, the best way I can describe it is from the expression "you can do anything if you set your mind to it."The idea is the mind or your will is accomplishing the task rather than muscle memory taking over.

The Chinese believe that everything moves in 5 steps but to help people remember how it works they use ancient philosophies based on the 5 elements since each one works with and gets destroyed by the other elements.

Oh and to fair, there's no natural view. What you're describing is the Western view versus the Eastern view.
