I have a very strange theory as to why everyone in this forum is so nice... It almost seems like our most prodigious posters like to act more refined, almost like gentlemen of the Victorian age. The class and good manners of the era seem to have seeped into the forums!

Plus, with a pay site, you're less likely to run into rude morons and roaming "trolls"...

I, for one, will take your comment as a compliment and thank you for it, Johnny, but I would like to say one thing: The way I act here is the way I am, I put on no false persona (or in this case, fursona may be a more fitting term) or mask to hide my true manner, this is my true manner. This may or may not have been needed to be said but I felt it was, hence my saying it.

I wish I could say the same Ashton, but its not so much a mask, but I have many sides of my personality (not multiple personalities mind you, just diferent sides) depending on who I am with. I can compliment or contrast those around me. As you've probably seen me do around the forum.

Also to answer the wonder we had going, I notice I didn't receive a "Mr. Wonderful" under my name upon reaching 200 posts. I guess it just went to the first one to reach it.

Or, if indeed the rank does come with a number of posts, maybe the number is 250 but I think I remember noticing I had my current rank when I was at 227 posts so I'm by no means sure. Ronald, where's our answer? Laughing

Perhaps it's just that Royal Member is the highest honorific available. And since you have already attained that Labrn, changing yours to Mr. Wonderful would be demoting you. Or so it appears at any rate.

Call me what you will for only now conceiving of this but is Mystic a seperate entity from you, Labrn, or is she another character you portray in here? If you'd rather not say, that is an acceptable answer as well, just say so.

Both Razz

Mystic is a character I created based off a close friend of mine (who shall stay anonymous) and a few tweaks from various mangas/animes/comics (Anyone ever read BattleRoyal?) that I've read and enjoyed.

Back when we did D&D a bunch, my friend used to play her and loved the concept I created...but since she had her kid *sigh* those times are just about at an end. She'll still joke and such with us, occasionally when we get a session in (few and far between) but otherwise for the most part I pick up the slack when she's not around.

I believe that he has stated that before. If I remember correctly, Mystic is a separate person from Labrn and that she occasionally posts through him as she doesn't have her own account yet. Of course I could be wrong. It's happened before, you know. Once. Laughing

Addendum: Again, slow to post. dry

Cool The Aldeberan way my friend. "Never let an outsider know the full extent of our powers." Hence why an air of mystery must surround us. Its how the kingdom stays hidden. And since I've already quoted Warhammer once, another quote I enjoy of it is from the Imperial Guard:

"If you are strong, feign weakness. If weak, pretend strength. Whatever your position, conceal it from the enemy, and he will waste his armies fighting his own phantoms."

Thank you, Labrn, for answering my question and for another fine quote, this one I have heard before though it was phrased differently.

Ah yes, the Imperial Guard. The only army I ever used. Too bad all strategy has been removed from them now. Sad

Lo there do the mighty fall,
Their bodies burned and broken.
Hear us now and ever more,
The guns of Man have spoken.

Hey, strenth in numbers and big ol' tanks are always a good strategy against those with too much ego and not enough armor.

Personally, though I've played many of the armies, my two most favorite units are the Wraith units of the Eldar (Wraithlord & Wraithguard) and the good ol' Basilisk with hits mighty Earthshaker Cannon! (indirect it can shoot 120" when will you ever play on a 10' board? Razz )

What I was referring to is that nowadays, all anyone seems to do with Imperial Guard is take nothing but las weapons and sit back and barrage until the enemy is little more than a lingering red mist.

Effective? Very. Unbalanced? With the new targeting rules, very. Requiring any kind of strategy? Barely, if at all. That, and everyone seems to want to use Gaunt's Ghosts. Were the stories good? Sure, I think so. But how about using one of the dozens of other Guard types? Or even create a new one?

Bleh. I should stop now, or I'll be ranting all night. dry

*sigh* Now my rank has changed from Mr.Wonderful to Mr.Fabulous and I still don't have an answer to the previous question of why my rank changed to Mr.Wondeful in the first place, I guess it must have something to do with my number of posts after all. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, I'm quite happy with my rank but I still find myself wanting a definative answer to my question.

Yes. The Ranks are based on "posting count". Usually it will have the words "Rank: " in front of the title.

Rank: Senior Member (100 posts)
Rank: Mr. Wonderful (200 posts)
Rank: Mr. Fabulous (350 posts)

I could always add more based on suggestions.

Some ranks are "special unique" ranks. Those are assigned by me.

Such as:

"Official Model" (if its a model that I know that is really posting and not a dude pretending to be her.)

"Writers" or "Artists" or "Moderator" or "Forum Admin" (these are some staff members who contribute to the site).

"Royal Member of BonBon" which is assigned to those who have been with the site (pleasurebonbon.com) for 6 months and have gotten their custom made Avatar icon drawn by Vanessa.

Hope that helps.

Ronald, you may just have to create Ms.Wonderful and Ms.Fabulous titles for our female posters. And Labrn, control yourself, sir.
