Hm, now I understand, thank you for explaining, Martin, though I still don't think it's an embarrassment to have owned that game. I did'nt like Final Fantasy XI either but I don't think it was as bad as all that. And I for one liked "The Spirits Within" and "Advent Children" and, with the exception of FFXI, I've never met a Final Fantasy I did'nt like. I've never seen Final Fantasy Unlimited though now you've gotten me quite curious about it.

If you truly have a burning desire to watch it, then I highly recommend that you do so while spending as little money as possible. It wasn't very good.

Yes Xebulon, I have played X-2 and while it was'nt one of the best games I've ever played I did enjoy it, I especially enjoyed some of the songs in it, very moving. And not to worry, Blockbuster Online has'nt let me down yet and it did'nt this time.

Ah, Blockbuster... my former master. Heartless, soulless, devoid of compassion. It was a lot of fun working there. Very Happy

Well I'm glad you had fun but that does'nt sound like the Blockbuster I know. I guess that just lends weight to the "What goes on behind closed doors" saying.

Hey, I liked that game. Yeah, like Ashton said, it isn't the most stellar Final Fantasy title in the world, but I enjoyed the job system in it, especially the ability to switch job-classes in the heat of combat, allowing for a totally different form of battle tactics than I've encountered in other games. Completely different from most other RPGs, where you have a set of characters with their own distinctly defined roles (ie: a fighter, a healer, a mage, etc.), thereby causing some characters to hardly ever be used due to their limited usefulness (Barret, Cait Sith and Yuffie from FFVII are good examples, as is Kimari from FFX). Of course, that's just been my experience with these games...

Hey! I actually used CONSTANTLY Barret and Kimahri... What can I say, I have a weak spot for big lugs with a heart of gold. That, and I hoped from deep within my heart that Barret would smack a good one to Sephiroth (Why should Cloud have all the fun whooping prettyboy's butt? Very Happy )

Like I said, when it comes to Final Fantasy, I'm old school. Cool

The new ones have their good points too. Even FF8 (an abomination in my eyes) had great graphics and wonderful music. VII and X weren't bad games, I just don't think they lived up to their predecessors. X-2 was fun, I'll admit. But the job system was really the only reason I continued playing it and even that wasn't new. A job/class system was introduced with Final Fantasy 3 for the Wonderswan system (NES, though the game was never released outside of Japan).

Addendum: Hey, it's after midnight now! That means my car insurance rates go down! Huzzah!

The big money question is: Why? I'll give you all a hint. Wink

There are only a few times when an American man's car insurance rates will drop of their own accord. I've just reached the first one.

And don't worry, I'm saving the crazy stuff for later. Lampshade on my head, swinging from a chandelier wearing only underwear and bawling Depeche Mode at the top of my lungs. You know, the usual. Laughing

Hint 2: It's the opposite of the reason why the Mad Hatter and the March Hare were celebrating.

If that doesn't give it away, then I give up. Smile

I'm now a quarter century old. The whole thing about car insurance was supposed to be about age-bracketing. 16-24 year old guys are considered "high risk" and so have to pay a higher premium for car insurance. Now that I'm 25, my premiums go down. About darned time, I say.

*puts the potato on his head like a hat*

Thank you!

When you get a chance Vanesse, let me knowwhat you think of the stories first chapter called An unexpected journy. Labryn, Jhonny, and Aston are making an apperence in the next chapter. Johnny your part is quick :p while i have a few other surprises and even more of Drake's childhood. This is why I didn't give much info back then.

Happy Birthday Xebulon! And thanks for the little tidbit on car insurance rates, that certainly answered a question I had floating around in my mind. Cheers. Oh, nice potato hat, by the way. Laughing

Shocked Wuzzat-huh? Wow, first my character gets sketched by Labrn, and now I'm making a cameo in someone else's fanfic. I didn't realize the old coyote was that "popular" with you guys... then again, that "quick" comment makes me kind of wonder what exactly you have up your sleeve, Drake.

Keep up the good work amigo, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your next story...

Thank you Drake for including us!

As for you Johnny, if yours its just gonna be "quick" I think I might win our contest. ;P Though, I do wonder whatever happened to dear Jillian. Perhaps stage fright has gotten the best of her due to her upcoming Strip Tease?

Anywho, I'll see what I can do about putting you in future fics too Drake.

Have'nt you read the general forum, Labrn, in the Happyness thread? It says quite clearly one must clap for our marvelous mechanical madwoman to exist. Speaking of which.....*claps*

Well actually Ashton. I havn't read the general forum. I try to view what I can, but I have limited time available, and my viewings are in a large public area.

Once I get my new power cord, I'll be able to read through more thoroughly.

Well as I said here is part of chaper two. Hope you all like it and trust me, I think some might know who the unexpected visitor is but I'm not saying anything.

Chapter 2
A unexpected visitor

Alright, you know when you think things can’t get any better, then they do? Well my day went from good to amazing! Violet had a busy day with some men who wanted to see her but she assured me I’ll get the best later that night and for me to go around and ‘work my charm’ as she put it. In the casino there was a lot of commotion as always and even some sweet music I had to listen to, but I had no time really for I bumped into a gentlemen coyote. We both fell to the floor and he rose first, looking down at me then smiled and offered a hand.
“My apologies sir, didn’t mean to send you for a spill there. You alright?” the coyote asked me as I accepted his hand to help me up.
“Oh quite alright quite alright good sir. Drake Skyflyer at yer pleasure… err service.” I said and laughed at myself.
The Coyote grinned. “Johnny Sixkillers the name. Nice to meet you Drake.” He had and tipped his hat to me. A extremely attractive female Siamese cat called for him and Johnny pardoned himself politely and shuffled past me. He was then was off and arm in arm with the lovely lady.
“Well what do you know, I guess this is where men get lucky and lose their money more then any other place.” I said to myself softly. This is when I heard the gentle music from an Aston Gray that I once heard in a town not to far from my now ‘former’ home. His Music is wonderful and amazing and when I finally spotted him I took a few steps only to be bumped into again and knocked to the floor.
“Watch it! I outta knock yer teeth out for that.” A deep and quite vicious voice growled to me. As I looked up to see who had bumped into me I nearly broke into a sweat seeing that it was a tall and muscle built black stallion, the exact opposite of myself. He appeared my height but had much larger muscles and he wore a tight fitting cloth shirt and dress pants, I was athletically built and only wore my kilt and nothing underneath. I opened my mouth to say I’m sorry and wanted to get up and get away, but this guy had other plans. In the blink of an eye he had be held up at my shoulder, glaring at me with mad red eyes. People around us gasped and some voices muttered “He’s going to hurt him!” but the voices faded and everything started to slow down, he started to lift me higher then suddenly he threw me hard to the floor, there was a potted plant near and that’s what my head hit. Last thing I saw was my would erupting in a flash of white.

It had been three long days before Drake’s father had returned, when he did he was a slobbering drunk and walked with a slight limp. Kiki was busy with a patient and Drake was sitting in her office just by the waiting room, when his father saw him and walked up to him slowly.
“Boy! We’re leaving. Get off your bloody ass and lets go.” drake’s father slurred and smelled horribly of alcohol which made Drake very slowly creep away from him.
“No want to go… stay here… you scare me daddy…” Without a word Drake’s father raised his hand and smacked his son full across the face, sending him falling onto the floor quick and hard. Drake began to shriek and scream loudly as tears ran down his face, the sting from his father’s hard slap burning on his cheek.
“Scared!? Scared?! Damn you worthless kid you ain’t seen nothing yet so shut up and lets go!” His father’s voice roared and he reached to his son and picked him up, carrying him over his back where he hung like a rag doll, sobbing. From hearing all the commotion Kiki came out but paused and gasped at what she saw.
“Vernon! Stop this at once! I’ll call the guard just put drake down!” She begged him, knowing he was drunk. But Drake’s father did not stop, he just glared at her as he walked out the door. Before he did he said one last thing to Kiki, something that made her too scared to move.
“Wench, take one more step and I’ll drown the boy then slit your throat…” Then Drake and his father were outside and on their way to the pier where his father’s boat sat. Vernon tossed drake onto the boat like he was nothing to him. Drake sniffled and got up slowly, shaking and crying softly as he scrambled to the bow of the boat.
“Little piece of trash.. When we get home your getting a beating you will remember. I wish you were never born!” Vernon screamed those harsh words to Drake, the words that tore at his heart and made him cringe and crawl as quick as he could past his father and down into the boat where he had his own small room. Climbing into his bed he brought the stuffed animal bear his mother had made for him close and was soon asleep.

I started to feel a throbbing pain on my head as my eyes slowly opened, I was still in delight castle but laying on a small bed. There was a Vixen sitting in a chair writing something down on paper, she wore a pair of glasses that often slid down her muzzle but she pushed them back up.
“My my, such a good looking fellow being tossed around like that, its a shame but I’m glad you didn’t try to fight.” The vixen said. “You don’t seem the fighting type anyway.” As the vixen set her paper down she smiled.
“I’m Doctor Kommy and that lady over there is Labryn and I’m sure you know Violet.” Kommy giggled. “She left a bright red lipstick mark on your cheek and hour ago.”
I blushed and chuckled thought looked at Labryn who was smiling at me and her tail was thumping back and forth with those almost hungry eyes. I sat up but felt a sudden dizziness hit me so I sat back down. Doctor Kommy giggled then sighed as she motioned for Labryn to come over.
“Labryn, watch him while I go talk to Violet and Betty. I think They have something in mind for out stud here.” Kommy said and winked at me before she got up and walked out, having a slight swish of her tail and a sway to her rump. Labryn in the meantime crept up onto the bed and laid herself out on top of me, propping herself up on my chest and began to giggle. Though she did not get any closer because Violet ran in and instantly told Labryn to get off, Betty followed and tried to tell violet to calm down but it was too late.
“Are you ok? I heard you were in a fight and got a knife pulled on you.” Violet looked at me and held my hand. I gave a soft laugh. “A brute bumped into me I think and he threw me to the side and I hit my head. Nothing bad but I’m flattered you were worried about me.” I replied calmly, though my head was pounding. Betty came to my other side while Kommy entered through the doorway, keeping her eye on Labryn.
“Well Drake, I have an offer for you. Would you like to be Violet’s body guard? I’m sure she’d love it and no guy would want to start trouble knowing you’ll be watching and you can charm off the wife of any man that comes here to yell at her. What do you say?” Betty gave me a smirk then a sad cute face, Violet joined in and I could see Kommy trying not to laugh. I was a sucker for ‘the face’ and felt myself falling in then I gave a slow nod and a wink.
“It’d be a pleasure.” I softly said and the next second Violet had her arms tightly around my neck, laughing and giggling.
“Yay! My own horse! I’ll comb your hair and fur, treat you nicely and you can spend the night with me… for half price!” She said to me as I tried to get air, such a strong girl she was indeed.

All of this is just Part one of a chain story I’ll be writing. I’ll keep posting it in the same topic now and then Wink

not to be a nit-picker, Drake, but Labrn's a dude... Mystic's the female of the duo...

Other than that, an interesting tale, I just wonder who the black stallion was... also the Siamese cat that my fursona apparently hooked up with! Laughing
