Wow...been a while since I did this. Here's a new girl that'll be 'poking around'*cackles, gets thwapped with pillow, yips* Here she is, yes...another long character sheet XD More ref pictures to come soon!!!

Born on the first night of the winter solstice, Miyuki was welcomed into the Shinju family by her parents, Meili and Setsuna, as well as her brother Masaru and her sister Akiko, Her older brother and sister were twins, both born on the same day, though of course minutes apart, Masaru being older than Akiko by thirty minutes and he likes to tease her about it. Meili and Setsuna were proud parents, even if their children were mixed, for you see, Meili was a lovely Alaskan Malamute femme from China, with lovely reddish and white fur(yes the CAN come in red coats, I've seen them, look it up, I KNOW what I'm talking about) and lovely brown eyes. Setsuna on the other hand, was a handsome white wolf from Japan with sparkling gold eyes. They had met while Setsuna was visiting China one day for business. They hit it off and kept in contact. It was seven years after they met that they were wed and Meili moved to Japan with Setsuna. Marsaru and Akikio both hold the resemblance to their mother and the same coat coloring as well. Of course it's easy to tell them apart. Masaru's fur is darker than Akiko's. Miyuki, lovely as she is, was pure white, no hint of red at all and her eyes were a beautiful amber in color, but unlike her siblings, she had more of a wolfish appearance, her tail only holding a slight curl to it. She was adored and spoiled by her parents and grandparents. Setsuna's family though were of a noble line, lords of sorts. It goes way back to feudal era where one of Setsuna's ancestors had fought in battles and saved the life of his general and commrades. He had been rewarded with land and riches and the inheritance carried through each male generation of the family up to Setsuna and it would be massed to Masaru as well and if he had any sons, it would continue. Of course Miyuki and Akiko would not be left out of the inheritance line, they too would continue the title on when they married as well.
As Miyuki grew up, she started to learn what she could. Sewing and cooking from her mother, reading from her father. Her sister often picked on her, pushed her around, dirtied her clothing. Yet her brother was gentle with her, often playing with her when Akiko would not. As Miyuki started to attend school, she became the center of teasing because of what she was, a mutt. Akiko and Masaru had gotten it too, but it had only lasted a month before Masaru put the bullies in their place. Miyuki on the other hand had it rougher, even after her brother stepped in to tell them to knock it off. She adored her brother, glad he was there for her. He tried to teach her how to defend herself and she caught on to the little things he did teacher. He loved his little sister and said he'd always be there for her.
When they were older, Masaru and Akiko eighteen and Miyuki fourteen, Masaru had started training to be a guard while Akiko studied to be a Geisha. Miyuki's parents though had started to pay more attention to her older siblings as they prepared more and more for their professions and she was basically ignored...except by her brother. Though by this age, Miyuki was about 5'7", she was picked on still because she was taller than the others and the others in her class kept saying that she was older than she looked, that she must be a bad student and had to be held back...which was untrue. Miyuki was a good student, working hard to please her teachers and parents. Though the calm one, there were times where she would go to a quiet place, far from the village to let out all her anger. Her parents had become hard on her, wondering why she couldn't be more like her sister, who was in the advanced classes of becoming a geisha. Miyuki simply said it was not what she wanted to do. She was put through the classes anyway though, despite her protest and her older brother trying to talk them out of it. No matter what though, she was stuck in the classes.
By the time she was sixteen, she was taller than her mother and sister, standing a couple inches shorter than her brother and father. She was actually prettier than her sister, though her sister didn't care, she still got all the attention since she was a geisha. One night though, she left the class early, saying she was not feeling well, so she was allowed to leave, but she did not go home right away. She walked along the stalls in the market place and came across one that sold some jade jewelry and little jade figureines. She soon found a necklace that caught her eye. She liked the pale green of the the beads and how each one was carved to look almost like a little lotus blossom. The man that ran the stall saw her admiration for it asked if she wanted it. She said she had no money, but the akita said to 'concider it a gift for a fair snow beauty'. She was flattered and accepted the gift, placing the strand around her neck. She then saw another necklace that was made of pink jade, but the charm did not go well with it. She saw another charm that did and pointed it out and when he saw how well it fit, he asked if she'd like to work at the stall. She accepted and started the next day. Of course she did this under the sly, not wanting her parents to find out, but eventually it was found out and her parents chewed her out till her brother stepped in and told them too hear her out. Miyuki told how she didn't want to become a geisha, that she would rather do something she liked and working for Daisuki was what she liked. They still didn't really approve, but they let her continue to work there. After a few months, Daisuki started to teach her how to make jewelry as well, of how to feel the form in the jade to make it come out and shine as she carved. It took a lot of practice, but after months of practice, she soon had a piece that was perfect in her eyes. She made a second one to see if it would sell and it did. It had been a sakura blossom charm in pink jade. Daisuki was pleased with this and let her make jewelry to sell whenever she wished, which was often.
As the months and years passed, her sister was one of the most popular geishas in the village and Masaru was a guard. Miyuki, still happy with what she was doing, continued to work in the stall and make jewelry and if she was not making jewelry, she was playing her erhu(which had been a gift from her grandfather Jinhai and she was the only one in the family interested in playing it) that she often played while working to draw customers. Daisuki was happy with her as an apprentice, though could see she wanted to do something more and one day after work, he spoke with her. He said that he wanted her to find something she wanted and to go after it. When she said she had something, he asked if it was something she wanted deep within or if it was something she said to make him happy. She sighed and admitted that she wanted to open a store of her own to sell jewelry, but she didn't know if she wanted to leave. He took her hands in his and smiled, telling her that 'the bird that does not leave its cage, will never know how far it can fly'. He patted her hands, having placed something in them and closed her hands around it, saying not to look till she was at home. She nodded and kept them closed, then looked at the shop, then back to him saying 'I'll see you tomorrow' and he nodded, but before they left, he told her that he had also wanted to open another shop, one in a different location and asked if she would like to run it. Surprised, she just about knocked him down in a hug, saying she would be honored and asked where it was he wanted to open the shop. He told her and gave her a map as to where it was. She saw it was a long journey, but was willing to go. He nodded and said he would give her the money as well as the slip for the shop as it was already built and waiting, but not yet open. She listened as he spoke and knew she could do this. When they parted, she went home and when she got home, she looked at the gift he had given her. It was a pink jade snowflake charm. She smiled and placed it on the strand of beads she already wore.
The next day she went out early before work, going to the barracks where her brother was and when stopped, she said she had something for her brother. Escorted to his room, her brother answered and allowed her inside after she said she wanted to talk with him. Behind closed doors she told him of the shop in BonBon and how Daisuki wanted her to run it. He was exited and of course wanted her to be happy, though asked if she had told their parents, to which she hadn't. She said she didn't want to be held back, said she wanted to do something she loved and to make a name for herself. He nodded and hugged her, saying to stop by before she left and to write often, to which she agreed and then took her leave. That day at work, she was busy helping Daisuki pack a wagon full of what she would need for the store. Jade to carve, tools to use, jewelry already made to sell and such. He said that he would send her new things that he made, but would also keep her in stock of jade to use for creating. She said that she would also send him samples that she had made and a letter when she arrived. Once the wagon was packed, they worked the stall till closing and upon closing, she hugged him and headed home. That night, Masaru and Akiko were home for dinner and it was then that Miyuki made the announcement to her parents and sister. Her parents were against it, saying she would not leave, but Miyuki stood up for herself, saying the same thing Daisuki had told her, that the caged bird that does not leave its cage, will never know how far it can fly. Masaru pointed out that it was a valid point, adding that it would be good for her to expand Daisuki's business and that he entrusted her with the other ship. Her parents gave in as they had before and said she could go, but to keep in touch. Akiko didn't seem to care.
The next morning before dawn, she was up and packed with her things she was taking with her. Clothing, her erhu, ink, paper, brushes, paints, jewelry box, money she had saved, and a few other things. She left before her parents were up, not wanting them to try and make her stay, but she left a note for them as well as a pink jade bracelet for her mother and a green jade carved sleeping wolf for her father. She left a lavendar jade bracelet for her sister as well. She made her way to the store where Daisuki was waiting and she put her things in the back of the wagon already hitched to the horse and waiting. He gave her a carved jade 'luck' cat statuette. She tucked it away and said she'd keep it close, then hugged him one last time and started on her way. She of course stopped at the barracks to say good bye to her brother. She gave him a blue jade snowflake charm on a black cord, saying this way she would always be close to him when he wore it. He bear hugged her one last time and let her get on her way. She waved to him till she couldn't see him and started her trip.
It took many days for her to get to the destination, but at last, BonBon was in sight. Of course, she had been warned about the living style there, so she would at least be prepared. Now, her new life would begin.
