You aren't near invulnerable unless you hiding some of your powers to me. I wouldn't risk to lose you while you have so much potential compare to the mundane.

A burst of laughter escaped devil's lips as he listened to the self righteous speech the newcomer had given before he even had a chance to reply to the other remarks.

He first turned his head to Alice, "To your question I do indeed have a few surprises up my sleeve but as per my flaming gift it has quite an impressive range although I haven't completely tested it's limits."

Then turning to Bryon, "I have no real desire either way, all I truly care about is making those who would try to stop us from being by destroying us pay with their lives."

"And for the wind bag," he said finally turning to Riku, "you sound all high and mighty but you assume too much, you call yourself the only true meta because you say you are, but that's based on one thing alone, and that's your opinion and I for one couldn't get a damn less if you tattooed it to my forehead, I was born with my talents the virus only enhanced them yet I'm not prancing about calling myself this and that."

For someone that want be left alone, you seem really eager to imply yourself in this mess. Don't dare to call the true meta thing on me. Alone you are not a meta just a nature aberration. Beside, it doesn't matter how we get this powers. We have them now. They make us superiors by themselves, not by the way we get them. I intend to use them to force the mundane to accept our presence and stop to hunt us like freaks. What make you think they cannot get rid of yours too. In the past mundane invented retro-virus to get rid of genetic sickness. They could "heal" you even if you are born with it. But you don't want to get involved so spare me your hollow speeches. = Abandoned Military Base, Area 37, New Mexico =

A naked green foxtaur walks over to a large window and peeks through the curtains. His predatory eyes record the emergency evacuation of the abandoned underground military base he's called home for over a month. Using his Metavirus powers, NumLock had helped over two thousand low level Metas and a few friendlies find this place for two reasons; to take a break from Pureblood encroachment and improve their strange Meta conditions. But there were traitors among them, and he detected a rogue transmission to the enemy, possibly too late. Despite their powers, they were all in mortal danger and they had begun their escape. The reynard's Metatech expected a swift attack on their temporary hideout, but he still made time to have a hearty meal, a threesome, and take a nice virtual nap.

He looked out the window of his barracks to see a few stragglers rummage through supplies on their way out. "Specism was a feral plague... But this new war is a farce. Furries and metas alike are dying, and it was always their plan to depopulate this planet by any means for streamlined takeover. I wonder if the real enemy is capable of laughing at us for not uniting against them. As flies to wanton cubs are we to the gods, - They kill us for their sport."

"Ay, caramba zorrito! You say such things..!" said the short pink fairy armadillo girl curled up in the bedsheets.

The pink amazonian dolphin that lay next to her stretched, and yawned a loud alto note. "Come on foxy, don't spoil the moment and get back in here."

NumLock facepalmed himself and wagged his unnaturally fluffy tail. He held his tongue from wondering aloud if this incredible opportunity was due to his insufferable charming personality or his weird Metapowered physicality. Then his Metatech spyware activated all underground base alarms.

>_ Red alert! Danger imminent! Flee!

Hundreds of Metas moved out as fast as they could from their former home. The two Meta women were already putting their black paramilitary jumpsuits on as NumLock's Metatech body just formed his. It was an all black American Civil War uniform with four special boots on his quadriped feet. He put on an extra long black trenchcoat and matching Stetson hat, then grabbed a bugle and an 1860 Cavalry Sabre from a locker. "We need to take the shortcuts like we planned, you sexy miracles."

The armadillo slipped on a pair of goggles, and kissed the dolphin that held her hair back in pigtails. "One shortcut - coming up papi chulo! Stand back." she warned, a bubble of nearly invisible energy vibrating around her in such a manner that she quickly bore a tunnel into the ground and kept going. The dolphin nuzzled NumLock's snout with hers and they both followed down the escape route.

They were outside the base perimeter in moments, but stopped in their tracks as two stealth planes flew overhead. All around them scores of Metas were either wounded or dead.

"They've taken out our escape vehicles. Threnody, you're riding me side-saddle, and I don't mean *>_ Bombers rerouting. Jesus whiskers..! Run westward!"

The pink armadillo powered up her force bubble and ran at super speed. The pink dolphin hopped onto NumLock's back and he galloped forward, almost catching up with their girlfriend.

"Threnody! Incoming!" shouted NumLock at the jet fighter only a few miles away from them.

Threnody quickly stood on NumLock's back, holding onto his trenchcoat, and inhaled deeply. She shouted a projected soundwave at an octave of such force that it almost disintegrated the fighter jet overhead. Another jet came into view, firing off two missiles at them.

"Hang on! I've got this!" exclaimed the gunslinger. From the sides of his quadriped body, two cannons emerged and fired, intercepting the missiles. But the fighter was following up with its powerful machine gun, and the armadillo lost her cool, tumbling into the desert sands. The fighter maintained its trajectory well behind them as NumLock and Threnody went to check on her.

"Are you okay?"

"Sorry! I didn't want to test my forcefield against live ordinance just yet, and I freaked."

"Come on 8Ball, we have *>_ Nuke deployed. Shields up. Get down!"

8Ball swiftly dug a hole right below them. NumLock pushed Threnody into it as his Metatech sealed his body in a metallic form, and he dove in. He heard the sonic boom of the jet clear the area before the nuclear explosion overcame his consciousness.

NumLock turned towards New Mexico, playing Taps on his bugle for the murdered.

"We need a sweet hack to show the world what happened, Metatech. Let’s start with our costume, but don’t cloak our chakat body anymore. This is for my dead lovers.”

NumLock's black costume now had an array of pink glow about it; even the ring around his black Stetson hat and the pink star on his coat stood out in broad daylight. Then he turned towards California and trumpeted the first stanza of Overkill's "We Don't Care What You Say (Fuck You)". NumLock secured his bugle, unsheathed his sword, and charged the gatekeepers, screaming.

On her way back to the docks, Allison had been using her abilities to spot other metas easily. Getting a few to come with her, she simply told those who refused to hide. Along the way, she had the few metas demonstrate their powers. The bat could manipulate electrical current, another's skin could become as strong as steel. He was a rottweiler. The last, a parrot, could camouflage herself to mimic the environment. Not exactly invisible, but damn hard to see. The vixen demonstrated some of her own powers as they got close.

Spotting the group on the dock, Allison casually walked up to them "Alice! Good to see you, and Bryon, I found some others." the vixen said motioning to the three. Their powers somewhat matched their personality. The two guys being rather cheerful And the girl shy and timid "Everyone, this is Sparks, Ironhead, and Jennifer..... the guys named themselves..." she said pointing to the bat, the rottweiler, and parrot respectively.

The crosshairs of a sniper scope scan the area, looking for possible targets and perhaps an ally. The crosshairs stop on a Desert Wolf that seems to be signaling the sniper.
"Found 'em" the sniper said over the radio. The voice of another replied back. "Okay, now can you synchronize the scope camera to my screen" The voice ordered "And how do I do that? Control, Alt, Delete?" The sniper said sarcastically. "...-sigh- Bishop, I'm going to punch you through the comm if you dont stop acting like a moron." He responded in an annoyed voice. "Well, Fuck you too Prophet" Prophet simply chucked over the comm.
Bishop takes his eye off the scope and hits a few buttons on a small console near his sniper rifle, turning a small red light on the side of the scope to green. "Okay, I synchronized your camera thingy" "Good" Prophet replied, pressing various buttons on his console bringing the figure into view. "Knight, I have you on screen." The wolf takes his hand and places it against his ear "Roger that". A black Panther moves into view "Are you sure that there's a cache of weapons in that warehouse?" The Panther said though his concern seemed to be derived from another source.
"I'm sure of it." Prophet replied to the panther.
"Hey, ladies less talk'n, more shoot'n" Bishop bolted over the comm.
All of them reply back at the same time "Shut the hell up Bishop!" Bishop says nothing, just chucking to himself, grinning.
"He's such a child anyway, were preceding to the warehouse, keep us covered." Knight ordered over the radio.
"Roger that"
"10-4 Señor"
The two figures move into position preparing to breech the side door of the warehouse.
"Hey Alcatraz, dont worry about your brother. We'll get him on his feet in no. Time" "I know and thanks, Prophet

The gatekeepers readied their pistols and rifles. Some turned on the flashing lights of their patrol vehicles and a few took positions at the street and tower levels. One peered through binoculars and handed them to a higher ranking officer.

"Commander, we've got a four legged Meta clocking in like a race car! He's got a sword."

The grizzled samoyed commander panted and swallowed the gob of saliva at the tip of his blue tongue as he looked through the magnifying lenses. "Let me tell you what kind of freak wears pink stripes on his costume and points a knife in my direction... a Dead On Scene. Flatline the fucker."

The officer tapped his comlink. "Yes, sir! Ready the sonic array, and fly that EMP bomb! What? Ensign, repeat... How!? Sir, evacuate the gate! That Meta's somehow diverted the drone jet over to us!"

The commander growled and walked over to a storage locker, pulling out a shoulder mounted rocket launcher. "Old school, then. Fire at will!"

Up the street, NumLock's four legs accelerated. "Status?"

>_ Hacked drone destroyed by rocket. More incoming.

The foxtaur's snout was grim. "Let's show them how this sword is stronger than their gun fu."

= Later, at a cantina down in East L.A. =

A large tabby argued with the iguana bartender. "This beer tastes like piss!"

"I know! We piss in it!"

The sounds of sirens approach rapidly from outside. Suddenly, there's a bang, and a patrol car crashes backwards through the doorway. The bar's clients run away, but the bartender notes the odd dent on the patrol car's hood. Dazed it's two occupants exit the vehicle.

NumLock gallops into the cantina, firing three bullets at one soldier and throwing his Civil War sword into the other's chest.

The bartender screams. "What the hell is going on here??"

NumLock trotted over to retrieve his sword. "I shot the sheriff, but I didn't shoot the deputy. Excuse me, but do you have a phone I can borrow? I need to make a phone call."

Across the street from the large warehouse, an old public pay phone rang repeatedly. A security camera on the roof played the live feed on Riku Edgewing's super computer system.

Back at the cantina in East L.A., NumLock whistled a tune, holding the bartender's company phone. "Hey barkeep, gimme a shot of whiskey and reload it. Metatech, watch my six."

>_ Perpetually. Turret readied.

A small cannon emerged from the side of NumLock's body, aiming towards the door at anything that moved.

"Come on, kitty... pick up. What are you staring at, barkeep?"

The iguana set down a full shotglass on the table, answering "That, um, skintight Tron outift with the pink lights kind of clashes with your hat, mister."

NumLock looked him in the eyes and gulped the liquor. "Thanks for the advice, Armani. Reload, and bring me some pretzels. Come on, Riku!"

The green fox made the old pay phone ring "Shave and a haircut" twice.

walking back to his warehouse he stopped for few moments to ajust his headphones before hearing a ring from an old pay phone ring he sighed and walked up to it before picking up the reviver

only two people ever phoned him alice or numlock strange though he thought why didnt they just ring his cell phone why make the change and phone this old thing but placeing the reciver up to his ear

"strange way to contact me there numlock still look like ya hacking abllites are working though but i doint appricate ya hacking into my miltray security system sentive information is on that can't have it getting into the....... well what ever what do ya want with me numlock?"

riku siad as small crakles of electristy could be seen sparking from his tail as it lazely flicked behind him in the cool air

~Abandoned warehouse near the dock~

The black panther slings his weapon behind his back as he prepares to breech the door. He takes off one of his gloves and his hand begins to glow red hot with a small blue jet coming out of the tip of his finger, slowly he cuts around the hinges of the large metal door as the Wolf scans his six 'o clock with he weapon raised ready to deal with any threats that may arise. After a few seconds the Wolf turns to face the door while the panther in turn covers him.

"Ready?" The Wolf whispered
"Ready" the Panther replied

Knight raised his left hand and made a pushing motion propelling the door forward, instantly killing a few guards that were unfortunate enough to be standing in it's path. The two metas rushed in quickly eliminating the few that remained, echoes of gun fire emanating throughout the docks as they split off encircling the armed guards until the last one fell all the while there process what being watched by the other teams members via a small camera attached to the side of Knight's G36C.

NumLock dropped the phone and stuffed a pawful of mini petzels into his snout just as bullets flew into the wrecked cantina. His Metatech fired back as he ran around the broken patrol car. With a heave, NumLock pushed it like a battering ram out the building and through two armed Humvees. The faceless troops kept firing, but the Metafurry was already beyond their range.

The vixen just sighed, turning around and giving each of the new male meta's a smack to the back of the head. They were arguing about something pointlessly trivial and they had started playing rock-paper-scissors over who's idea was better. Jennifer simply sat down and pulled an iPod out to play a game. 'Sparks' groaned, rubbing the back of his head. Allison's smack hurt him more then the rottweiler.

With a sigh, he opened his eyes and looked upon Jennifer. For some reason, he had a feeling of kinship around her. Watching her fiddle with her iPod, he decided to take a strike up a conversation with her. After making his way towards the parrot woman, he said, "Hey there... Mind if I take a seat?"

The veteran iguana chewed at his thick cigar, scowling as he watched subordinates coordinate the high speed chase and capture of a four legged fox Metafurry. "Status report!"

A mallard female officer turned from her console. "The unknown subject has eluded our air, ground, and static radar systems including EMP deployment. However, our predictive software is still calculating his destination. It's either LAX, Marina del Rey, or Santa Monica."

The iguana whipped his tail and hissed. "Do not deploy forces until the idiot has led us to an obvious location. He's the suspect our New Mexico branch recorded fleeing the site of the indoor flea market explosion... Now, why are the monitors shutting down, troops?"

A marmoset stood up from his console. "Sir, cyber guard department is repurposing server control. The Metafurry has launched a multiple hydra counterattack in our systems. All we have are street patrols and radio."

The iguana smacked his mouth on the cigar and dutifuly remained calm. "Establish roadblocks at the three projected areas. Arm up with rockets and armor piercing explosive rounds. I am now relinquishing command of this Meta Hunt to the IOBC... Copy?"

A cold female voice was heard over their communication lines. "Agents are now active. Await further instructions."


= Interstate Highway 10, Off Ramp to Marina del Rey. =

A black and white chihuahua male in a dark suit and trenchcoat made his way through the militarized police force setting up a roadblock. He was short and unassuming, even for his species, but he was recognized and held in high regard by the soldiers moving around him. The chihuahua casually walked beyond the perimeter of lights and rifles, pausing for a moment to adjust the badge on his belt.

"Special Agent Balas," called an officer. "It's safer behind the line, sir."

The dog turned slightly towards the fur, speaking in a slight Spanish accent. "Commander Zilla's orders are revoked. Secure your guns. Ready batons. Wait for my radio link."

Then, Agent Balas started removing his clothes, revealing a white body suit that covered his fingers and toes individually. The police entourage looked at each other incredulously. One of them, a warthog, bared his teeth and aimed a bazooka at the dog. Officers adjacent to him quickly disarmed and subdued him. Agent Balas marched up to the police fur in custody by his own squad.

"Why did you intend to fire upon me, officer?" asked Agent Balas.

"Look at you! You're a god damn Meta! You are all on video, and you are all under arrest!" said the warthog as he was held down and hadcuffed.

Agent Balas' face was expressionless. "Ignorance and prejudice have made you delusional. I am not a Meta. This special suit is merely technology you are not competent enough to consider properly. You are fired with... extreme prejudice."

The cop struggled in vain. "NO!! Fools! Tools! Hypocrites-*" , were his last words.

"Agent Balas, the unsub is in sight."


= Interstate Highway 10, Eastbound =

The green gunslinger ran alongside traffic towards the planetarium outside of Riku's neighborhood.

>_ Heavy traffic due to police checkpoint in three miles.
>_ Enemy aircraft now in pursuit.

NumLock frowned and calculated data relevant to an armed helicopter trying to steady it's spotlight on him. The militarized police had been issued a black helicopter, complete with stealth equipment that made it soundless. "I don't want to crash that old thing onto innocent furries, but I don't want to give them a chance to destroy a city block just to get at me.

>_ Repurposing Host firepower...
>_ Fireworks readied.

"For those about to rock... Fire!"

NumLock maintained his four legged super speed pace, passing many cars on the busy highway. Then his artificially intelligent Metavirus nanoswarm made a cannon pop out of the fox's side that shot one large firework at the helicopter. The bright green explosion forced the pilot away from NumLock, and made many furs slow down on the road.

"Marina del Rey, here we come! Metatech, I am now calling you... Emmi."

>_ Armor on.

Agent Balas ran into NumLock with his fist, sending the fox into the air. A flying kick sent the fox further out. NumLock fired his guns as he fell, but Agent Balas was unaffected. A second later, they were grappling each other.

NumLock smiled. "Nice suit."

Agent Balas replied, "Die, Meta."

There was a bright flash about them before they hit the ground.


= Marina del Rey, across the street on the north side of Riku's warehouse =

NumLock walks out of an alleyway on two normal legs. He's still wearing his black bodysuit, trenchcoat and hat, all with the glowing pink pattern on it. The green fox checks his inventory: American Civil War sword and bugle, identification wallet with US Marshal badge, also outdated. His ears and tail pricked up, as if noticing someone had spotted him. He looked around for anyone suspicious, and seeing nobody, walked right up to the familiar entry door to Riku Edgewing's home.

"I'll just check to see if he evacuated the place yet.", he said aloud.

Then NumLock banged on the door twice.
