Betty told Red about how she hadn't seen Mary for two years. I'm assuming that this was when Simon put an end to Betty's visits. If that was also when Edelweiss took the blame for it and was banished, that means she has been gone from Bon Bon for seven years. Now I don't know if her banishment was permanent, or if there are still some time to go before she is allowed back in Bon Bon, or if she is actually already allowed back and just hasn't returned for some reason. Or something completely different. It'll be interesting to find out in issue 7.

I wonder if Red too was banished for some time.
Or perhaps he has just been busy with whatever it is the Clan of the Talon does.

I think Simon banned Edelweiss permanently. We haven't seen yet what happened that made him ban her but I'm sure it was (in his eyes) so horrible that it can't be forgiven. Let's wait what will the next pages and issues will reveal

I was just going back over the older issues, and I found the explanation of the first law of Bon Bon by Simon, where he says that people who violate the privacy of others are banished for 10 to 15 years. Though perhaps Edelweiss' case was different.

Then in issue 4, Betty talks about how she broke the first law of Bon Bon and Edelweiss took responsibility. So I wonder if Betty was looking around, trying to figure out why Mary was locked up like that. The fact that Betty was becoming a connection between Mary and the Delight Castle, might have angered Simon even further.

At least, that's what I'm thinking so far, and also why I wonder if Red may have been made to leave Bon Bon in addition to his engagement to Mary being broken off, assuming of course that Simon found out about the letters.

I definately agree about it being hot. I also knew it would be that after the last panel of page 8.

I like that we're seeing some new female characters we haven't seen in a sex scene before. They are really nice. And it's not just new characters, but also how we're seeing a scene with so many females. And I must say that it's extremely hot how Lily is pleasuring Red, while at the same time being pleasured by Periwinkle

Yeah, Violet seems to be mostly oblivious to the whole Betty/Red/Mary plot going on, or at least it very much seems that way. I got the impression that Violet wasn't a "lifer" like the Champaign twins or Betty... Actually, based on her first appearance in the comic, she seems to be sort of naive about how the job works: interupting Betty while she was with a client, "stealing" him away from her, and then letting him off with a "freebie"... not really "professional", I'd say...

Okay, I did find the post where Vanessa said that Violet has only been at the castle for a year, so it wasn't just something I had imagined

My impression of Violet is that while she can be naive at times, a great deal of her behaviour is also due to her being a very carefree and positive person. I don't think that she cares to follow the rules as much as Betty.

I have also been thinking just how much she knows about Red. She obviously knows about the whole story about Mary, but I wonder just how much of the past Betty has told her.

Violet has been working at the Delight Castle for just over one year, and she knows next to nothing of Betty's past; there's a lot of confidence between Betty and the girl that worked at the Castle from the time when Edelweiss was there, but she prefers Violet's company. Since Dalila and the others shared sad moments of Betty's past, she doesn't spend much time with them to avoid remembering.
On the other hand, Violet is happy and naive and with her Betty is distracted and feels at ease, for the very reason that Violet doesn't know much. That's why Betty chose her on the spot as a sort of lady-in-waiting.

As always, whenever Vanessa posts something, it clears up all doubts (or at least a great many of them). That explanation of Betty and Violet's friendship makes a surprising amount of sense, plus I'd suspect the Champagne sisters and Betty might have a bit of a "sibling" relationship, since all three of them grew up under the care of Edelweiss. Anyone who has siblings knows that the longer you're around them, the less time you want to spend near them. Sure, you might get along with your siblings, for the most part, but even when they don't get on your nerves there's a definite need for privacy and lots of "personal space".

Sort like the opposite of the old idiom "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"... maybe something like "Presence make the heart go 'meh'."

Something that I've been wondering is how Dorian fit into all of this. Could he possibly be a member of the Clan of the Talon as well?

It appears that it was Dorian who somehow told Red that William is in Bon Bon, but I wonder why he would give such information to Red, and at the same time try to warn him about Red coming to Bon Bon.
