It's not really new since pg.6 has been out for awhile now. In the page, Betty hands over the tiara that Edelweiss once wore and Mary is named the new successor once Betty steps down. Betty more than likely knows of Mary's parentage but remains quiet on the issue either because of BonBon's rule or maybe out of some type of respect for Edelweiss. |
But what if she doesn't know? |
I find that to very difficult to believe. First and foremost, Betty knows that Simon and Edelweiss were once married and her friend just so happens to be Simon's daughter is way too much of a coincidence. And really she placed Edelweiss's tiara and basically said that Mary was taking over when she steps down. If she didn't know, giving the castle to someone who is both naive and a virgin would be a disaster. Most likely in that scenario Violet would be the more logical choice to run the castle.

Good point. I wonder if Betty will tell Mary about her mom at some point in this issue or the next?

| i know right, but man is it good to see him get thrown back in his place. In all honesty, given his position and the fact that there are people after him, it would work in his favor to be more...likeable. As far as i see it, he has no redeemable qualities |

| well to be honest it seems William kinda started it to an extent. i think...if i recall Violet was nice to him and cared for him even if it was a little for a small interaction. Mary was nice to him in a way, but....William could have been nice to her, also given that his employer is extremely powerful and wealthy. Besides him being nice to the people of bonbon where no one knows him, he could make allies to help him out given he is down on his luck. |

William been beaten by Betty on multiple occasions. Blackmailed and used by Betty to further her own agenda. Wilfully tortured by Violet. Verbally and physically assault by Mary. And, of course, has people looking for him that likely want to flay the flesh from his body. The only one that has actually shown signs of really caring for him is the man that would no doubt string him up by his testicles should he find out the truth.
Given the situation I would say William has every right to be in a foul mood. His life is in constant threat and he is surrounded by vicious, conniving women.

But that should be no excuse to hurt Mary's feelings. She's just a sweet innocent girl after all.
