Samuel Dunn Revisions

I may take my time writing up a more detailed story version of some of the changes I had planned to make. However, I figured I'd at least go over the basics of what will have changed in this post.

The last iteration of his history had Samuel fall in love with a girl whilst on a liner headed for America from London. The father was a member of the Clan of Talon and ended up trapping Samuel in a deal that had him in BonBon and at the disposal of any Clan member who visited. This was something that I had used to try and integrate him into the story. However, that felt a little tactless and I will change it up a bit.

Instead of being a member of the Clan, the father will simply be a wealthy businessman in the field of Import & Export. He had been mulling over an idea for some time about providing some form of "disposal" for companies that want to avoid any fees with getting returns or overages. This unwanted stock could simply disappear in BonBon, since BonBon's laws would make investigation there nearly impossible. The deal will remain as it had, with Samuel heading to BonBon to open the shop and removing himself from the daughter's life. His supplies come in for free and any extra profits the businesses make by using the service are split between the company and the father. Since Samuel has free stock, he just gets to have 100% profit from his sales. It was decided to have him in no way financially linked to the transactions to help avoid discovery of what was going on.

At this point, I will have Samuel less regretful about the decision, as he had only known the daughter a few days and would have had a less certain future if he had stayed. With his choice, he has security and feels it was the more practical choice. I had toyed with the idea of the daughter eventually coming to BonBon to reunite with Samuel, but this part I am still uncertain about.

As for the business, Samuel will have started with fairly normal pricing, although more on the less expensive side. Until he comes across an individual who wanders in after having had a very poor streak of luck at the casino. He's in desperate need of some new clothes, but is of course without money. Samuel realizes he has the potential to help transform things. As he has no worry about needing profits, he decides he will make high fashion available to all and sets up a system where people pay what they feel like paying. He decides to start by simply giving the man a selection of new clothes and then immediately sets to removing anything that labels the prices.

Very interesting, I will have to look deeper into you characters story (if you've posted him before). Maybe we could work out a RP together in some fashion later on?

Either way, he sounds quite interesting.
