I mean, how would a character like Simon shave off his mustache, without ending up with either a bald spot in his face or just a trimmed down mustache? Okay, I'm not really serious about that, as it's just another thing that one shouldn't really think about. But it is kind of funny anyway. Tongue

Thats easy we use scissors amd trim the mustach or beard off to avoid having bald spots. If you come near me with a razer ill be cracking some skulls

That question would actually be rather easy to answer. You assume that it would leave a bald spot because you perceive the razors would be the ones people use. Since this is a world in which humans never sprang up, I would assume many things that were developed with the idea of skin would cater to a given amount of fur. To accomplish this feat for a shave, I imagine the razor would have a comb or brush on one end for the "natural" fur and the razor would then only trim excessive hair past that point. But perhaps that's just me

Yeah, I have been thinking the same things, but I have also thought about allergies.
Can some individuals be allergic to other species?

Well, to keep things simple, I would imagine it being similar to what our world is like. Since there are both anthropomorphic and regular animals, and have meat still on the menu, I would imagine furry characters would imagine it in the same way people do. You would have those who don't mind it at all and use fur in fashion and decoration, others who don't know how they feel about it, or at least feel uncomfortable about it, and then finally the animal rights folk who protest the use of furs and might even go so far as to painting fur wearers and shaving themselves bald saying its natural. Laughing

But seeing how beards are typically of a different color than the fur, wouldn't it still mean that someone like Simon Blue would have a dark blue patc on his upper lip? Wouldn't his moustache simply be cut to be the same lenght as the rest of his facial fur? Confused

Answering the Original questions:
I don't mind, and actually prefer the style that Vanessa uses. I can't state an actual reason, i just prefer it that way.
I hadn't really thought about pubic hair on furries. Really, I suppose anything and everything is possible. So, its all up to the artist on that one.
and finally, I agree with Silvador, shine off of fur is completely natural, so of course, if the artist wants to include it, by all means do so.

And to Miss Scorpia, It's possible to think that furries might have allergies, but in order to keep all possibilities of encounters open, I feel that we should simply (for lack of a better word...) ignore that furries may have allergies to other species.

I've always been more fond of furry art where the characters are depicted with shorter fur and a good mixture of the human features in with the animal. So far to what I have found in my searches the best two artists out there, in my opinion at least, are Vanessa and Dr Comet. They way they both draw their characters is phenomonal. I especially admire the female characters and how well they are drawn. Both make them absolutely gorgeous.
